|  Looks like we have to wait until December for a ruling. Although it appears that since she has now been charged she will at least face the minimum sentence thus meaning she did not "get off". Quote:

| I wonder if this is a legal tactic to put time between the arrest and the court date. Also they could say "look she hasn't gotten in trouble since then". So your right she could still wiggle out. |

| Old Bookie event resurrected. The current status of this: Paris Hilton had a pretrial on Jan 23, and her trial is scheduled to start no later than Feb 23. I'm going to adjust the payout dates and reopen this one for betting until Feb 20.

| OK. Here's my take on this. The original probation sentence was a slap on the wrist, but 45 days in the slammer is no slap (not for this kind of conviction anyway). It's a punch in the mouth that includes a split lip and a loose tooth.  This shouldn't affect the bet though, since it was a separate offense. We'll see if the 12' by 8' cell and one hot meal a day changes the bitch's attitude. I wish they'd tossed her in the general population.

| 5drive I agree her original sentence was a creampuff but I bet that isn't far from what non-famous people would have gotten in her county. The sentence on the violation was nice. But remember, she is going to jail and not prison, damnit. But 45 days is a harsh sentence compared to several people I know that got 5 days for driving on susp licenses while on probation. She deserves it. She deserves more. Hookahs, she got a violation of her probation (she was supposed to be on 3 years probation for the DUI) for driving on a susp license and several other things. I don't think she did her alcohol awareness classes. |
