Will Sony reduce tha $499/$599 price tags on Playstation 3 (PS3) before tha expected United States launch date of November 17th, 2006?

Sony must officially announce a reduction in price on tha $499/$599 models on tha Playstation 3 by November 17th, 2006 for all Yes wagers to be graded a Win.

Does anyone else find it insane that people are paying anywhere from $2,000-$3,000 for playstation 3 on ebay? I want the system too but not that bad. Only about 400,000 are bein put out in the U.S. They are sold out everywhere and walmart is getting over $1000 for them. I hope in a few months they drop down to about $500 or $600, i thought that's how much they were supposed to sell for in the first place. Around xmas prices are always crazy on new systems though. I don't remember xbox 360 going for the prices that ps3 is going for, but i do remember people standing in line just like they are doing for ps3.

Its insane if you ask me.

There was a story on the news about a guy thats waiting in line to buy one. Not only is he waiting in line but he paid 4 other people to stand in line and buy one for him (apparently its one per customer) for $600 each so he can sell them on ebay for $2000-2500.

People are crazy. Look at xbox 360, it was going for over a grand on ebay, now you can walk in to best buy and buy em with ease. Wouldn't it be better to wait so there'd be more games to play anyways, and how bout all those early 360s that were over heating. Much better too wait, unless you insist on being the first to have it. I don't think i'll be able to drop what ever money playstation wants for it. PS2 and xbox are good enough for me.

Yea, i also heard that about customers payin other people to stand in line for them. I just watched the news a little while ago too and some people they interviewed were in line for 3 or 4 days.
