Well, I've been on the 2.5mg dose for the past 5 days, and I feel a lot better(as far as side effects go). I was also able to obtain some extremely good marijuana recently too. I can't tell if the lower dose of Prednisone is helping, or if it's the better quality marijuana, but I am sleeping much, much better. I can actually get to sleep at a decent hour, and I'm sleeping through the night again.

On the flip side, I'm not getting much benefit from the small dose of Prednisone. I may come off it completely to see if my joints feel a lot worse. Again, though, that could be a problem because I can tell the better quality marijuana is really helping my pain and inflammation better.

Yea I have smoked and thought it was doing good and then I would get some better MJ and thats when I discovered the better quality the more it will help. The less headache and sluggish feeling i get from crappy weed.

I tough thing with my grandma is whenever she gets sick they just pump her up to 40 mg of it a day and then drop 10 every couple days.

Honestly I really don't know whats good for you and whats not, I hear different things even about natural cures and then everyones body is different.


So how how things going? how did the doc go?

I saw my Rheumatologist a week ago Friday. She wants me to stay on the 2.5mg dose of Prednisone because it is helping my inflammation. I am tolerating that dose, for the most part, so I'll stay on it for a little while longer. My pain and inflammation have been much better. I believe it is the better quality marijuana, and the Prednisone.

She wants to start me on a drug called Plaquenil. It helps stop the progression of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am not ready to go on Methotrexate, which is also a cancer drug. So I opted for the Plaquenil because it's not as strong. I can't start the Plaquenil until I get a baseline eye exam because it can cause eye problems with some people. I also have to get an eye exam every year to make sure it's not screwing up my eyes, but I'll stop it if I sense anything wrong way before that.

I did have some bad problems with my stomach recently, though. Almost as bad as when I went to the hospital. Pain and vomiting for a couple days. Both my Rheumatologist and Gastroenterologist said they don't think a small dose of 2.5mg of Prednisone would cause that to happen, but I'm not so sure. So, I'm back on a bland diet until I see my Gastroenterologist again on June 6th. Not to mention all the RX stomach meds I'm on too.

I'm doing pretty good, all things considered. I had to take a gastric emptying test yesterday, all morning. The G.I. doctor ordered more tests because he doesn't believe the Prednisone is causing my stomach problems. I really like my doctors, but I know they aren't perfect, so I am always cautious.

I'm just glad I have good quality marijuana because that helps a lot.

I saw my G.I. doctor this morning. I'm doing a lot better, but I also stopped the Prednisone a week ago too. I seem to still be doing ok as I have really good marijuana that I'm using as medicine. I told the G.I. doctor I stopped taking the Prednisone also, and that my stomach was better, so he agreed that it may be a problem.

He suggested increasing my stomach meds so I can handle the Prednisone, but I don't really want to do that. Since I've had better quality marijuana, I've been able to stop taking the Prednisone without seeing much of a difference. I've also been able to come off 2 of my RX stomach medicines, so that makes me very happy as well.

I said I'd go back on the Prednisone in one week, and see how my stomach reacts. If it reacts badly, I'm coming off it again. I'm in a bad position having stomach ulcers. I can't take any NSAIDS, so my only options for my RA is steroids, opiates, and drugs to help stop the progression of the disease. So, I know my doctors are trying to help me, but I'm also trying to help myself by using marijuana as medicine.
