So, I ws playing this game, and since it wasn't particularly difficult to stay alive, my mind started wandering, and I started to think about these aliens, right? Here they are, a race that has perfected inter-stellar travel and is so technologically advanced compared to us they can manufacture and transport an endless supply of these ships, right? The energy requirements of that must be HUGE- inter-stellar travel on such a large scale? Production of a infinite army? Granted, they're pieces of crap, because this super-advanced civilization is apparently not also bright enough to make it withstand one shot from a backwards planet that's technology and energy management capability is so far behind theirs that they only create ONE ship to fight these uncountable LEGIONS, but still, the aliens must have discovered Free Energy or something. How do you think they did it? I think the most likely case is a dyson sphere... not actually FREE energy, per se, but such a large amount that it would seem like it's infinite.

So, these aliens have free energy, interstellar travel, and quick and easy production of not only limitless ships, but limitless pilots as well, so they must also have advanced cloning techniques too. And, not ONE SHIP they send to conquer a planet has a fucking WEAPON? They're obviously aggressive- they're invading us. ANd they're strategy is "let's try to crash into the enemy, despite the fact that he can release a constant stream of bullets/lasers/whatever, and one hit from one of those kill us! It's foolproof!"

Of course, then their 2nd in Command had a brilliant idea: "Sir, I think we can improve upon this plan a bit. You notice, here, he's only capable in firing in one fixed drection in relation to his vehicle. I think we should send all of our fighters in from that direction. Surrounding him could prove fatal."

"Egad, you're right, man! You're promoted."

"Sir, you're the only person above me"

"Well, in that case, YOU'RE now above ME. I said you're promoted boy, so don't give me any lip."

"Very well, sir."

I am POSITIVE that's EXACTLY how their meetings in the war room went.

Anyone else find this completely ridiculous?

I was watching some crappy alien movie the other day, and I was thinking. If it somehow happened that aliens did encounter us, it would be sooo unlikely that us and them would even have remotely similar technology. It would either be a case of us massacreing them, or more likely(if they found us) us getting destroyed. I mean why would two civilizations developing millions of light years apart be on a level playing field like in the movies and games. We probably would just get vaporized from a orbit without knowing anything was going to happen. So yeah, none of these games or movies really make sense.
