Default How Do You Get Pictures To Look Really Clear And Cloase Up??

I was lookaing at some pictures of bud last night and the pictures are really close up, i mean like you can see like 1" x 1" zoom up of the bud and it is picture perfect. I heard some people scan them or something like that (fill me in if you do). I have a 3.6 MegaPixel Camera so does my camera not have enough megapixels??

Fill Me In

-Thanks-

You need a macro lens on your camera.

You don't need a macro lense. I have a 4 megapixel olympus. All I do is take a nice close-up (as close as I can get without getting distortion. To do this enable the close-up function on your camera (usually represented by a flower). After I have a nice close-up I then transfer the picture to my computer and pull it up in paint. If the picture was taken in high resolution (3-4 megapixel) the picture will more than fill the area you can work with in paint and it will appear very close up. Then I cut a portion out and paste it into MS Publisher there I re-enlarge the section I cut out to 600x800 which gives you a nice macro shot without an expensive lense.

Here's an examples of the quality I get with that method.

To be honest it's harder to find bud worthy of posting than it is to take the "macros".

Hope this helps. As a side note if you don't have MS Pub I'm pretty sure MS Word would work as well.

Default close-ups

a macro lens will enable you to take the picture without having to zoom in. You can just place the camera as close as you like to the subject and focus in on it using your macro lens focus ring. Some digital camera have digital optics which allow them to focus in clearly. Furthermore, shutting down the iris slightly may help you focus slightly better.

I usually turn the brightness of the picture down and keep the flash on and set the lens for close ups by selecting the flower icon... I get somenicce ones.. It also helps to do this ina solid black background.

Yes...You want a Digital with Manual Macro ...and the ability to turn off the Flash

And yes, get as close as you can without distortion.

The number of pixels is how many identical points of color fit in the same space. The higeher the number, the more "dots", the finer the "texture" of the picture. You can also enlarge it as there is a greater density of that dot texture to enlarge.

When taking clos eup pictures, you may want to use a tripod or rest the camera on a steady object so that you do not shake the body of the camera when pressing what used to be the shutter release, now is the digital aperture.

I've been learning a LOT about digital cameras lately -- been helping a friend market his new camera store and selling on eBay.
