These are some of my shots of the hummingbird migration of 2OO5. Here in southeast Texas, we get them in droves from around mid-August to mid-October. I've had many compliments on them.

Sweet. I live in Philly, and I can say I've seen about 3 humminhbirds my whole life (and those 3 must have been lost

I live in San Francisco We get alot of humming birds during the summer. My mom puts out 3 humming bird feeders so that might just help. We have actually gotten a couple in our house. Very cool

I love humming birds! I love to watch them and see how fast they can fly and how you cant see their wings when they hover, they look like their suspended in air, I love it! My grandma has lots of them in her garden. Good pics by tha way

They are pretty cool creatures (yeah Buzz, I know...the tongues in aspic right?! lol). We have a bunch of them here in the desert.

One scared the crap outta me the other day! It flew right towards me at warp speed...at first I thought it was a bumblebee!

Make sure you bring those feeders in after Labor Day. They won't migrate when they should if there's a feeder handy...and the cold weather can hurt them.

Thanks to all of you for your compliments. It takes a bit of patience to photograph hummingbirds. You have to sit still and make very slow movements, so being stoned can help.

The ruby-throat hummingbirds will soon be migrating up from Mexico and headed all across the US, including up to southern Canada. So yes, homeadebubbler, they do reach up to your neck of the woods. And it won't be long, as spring is exloding in our faces here east of Houston.
