My mums are starting to come out...keep cutting them down though...well let them come all the way out in late July. My Rose of Sharon trees are starting to bloom, I have a white one and about four purple ones, they are beautiful. The Hostas (sp) are also looking very pretty right now.

Since everyone here is flower friendly and I am still learning, I have a question...I have a peone (sp) that is about 50 to 65 years old right off of my front porch. Most know that those stupid things attract ants. Now the previous owner said he has tried to pull it several times, even attached his truck to it and tried to pull up the roots. This things has a massive root system and we can't get it to die...any suggestions? And also...WHAT THE FUCK kills a mimosa tree? Man, I can't get those stupid things to die either, they are coming up all over my flower beds....constant battle with the peone and mimosa's

We tore out a Japanese Yew looking like shrub and make that where my wife's Hybrid Tea Roses would go.

8 bushes and one climber all growing...Even have buds on 5 of them (not bad for the first year and some folks saying they couldn't be grown in this climate).

Here is the first bloom of the bunch, Golden Eagle:
