My son and I have enjoyed this art festival together for many years. Art is something I have shared with my son and we both finally have gotten our designs accecpeted for the printmaking (silkscreening) booth. This is cool cuz out of only 4 spots to fill we got 2 of them. Not sure how many were submitted but prolly alot.
Funny story~ He got his phone call from the art commity in early may and I was like shit they only chose yours.I was all upset over it.He scribbled out an upside down ice cream cone on the side walk, took 10 min.... And I took a week graphicly designing mine and
Anyway 2 weeks later we both got post card saying that they will be using out desings and congrats

And while he is working the booth...
Im doing some sidewalk art at Chalk The Walk ...... .......AND
The adult paint is over looking downtown this is where Im doing some watercolors
Lots of good music and food might even go show the hacky-sackers a thing or two... Im still the best Hacky-sack chick even tho Im fat and 34, I still can move lol think its funny dont ya ...Im for real.. I trip out thoes kids and my son just walks away embarrased lol hehe .he knows hes got a cool mom
We will get lot of pics so Ill post them later .
Oh and check out Tom Otterness he is awsome
Im gonna meet him Saturday!!!

I live in Grand Rapids probably about 5 minutes away from downtown...Maybe I'll be able to come down and check it out before I head home for the weekend.

Hay you guys I'm very sore and sunburned but I had a wonderful day!!Attachment 7131As you see theese are pics my son took. I have been invited back next year to do some promo work yeah! On the bottom left is my winning submission for the printmaking. I was so cool to see all the little girls wanting the ballirina print on their t-shirt.so cute.
They changed my sun on the print to the festival logo sun and they did the same shit to my sons Print and they turned it rightside up.. He was pretty upset about it. He had an upsidedown icecream cone like it had fallen on the cement well.....They thought it seem sad so they fliped it and put the logo sun on his cone. I wil try to put up some more pics later but alot of the time I have trouble with my attachments.
Now as I sit here skin hot and red, leg muscels aching (from squating )lol
I dread going to stand infront of that grill at work.At least most of this town will be at the festivel today so we wont be so busy. I can always hope. Going down tonight but with the rain Im 4sure nothing is left of the chalk art

So I was also doing these sketches and thinking I should try doing some caricatures next year at Art on the spot, do you guys think these are any good? I prolly need some more practice with the pencil
