Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending…
Revelation, 1. 7
As the western edge of the free world slowly slides into the abyss, our focus as a nation seems to be fixated on the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez Junior for being temporarily suspended from boxing for smoking some weed before one of his bloodbath bouts. Can anyone truly blame him? Or the Rhode Island chapter of the ACLU, who has just announced their intended lawsuit against the state health department for mandating that only licensed physicians can recommend marijuana.
It was a mixed bag for sure. Obama lost the first debate to Mitt Romney. The LA city Council finalized the retraction of their ill-conceived plan to ban the legal medical marijuana collectives that dot the downtown LA Landscape. And my personal favorite… the city of Oakland decided that they were over the fed’s strong arm tactics and filed a law suit Wednesday against top federal prosecutors in an attempt to stop them from seizing property occupied by the country’s largest medical marijuana dispensary.[nggallery id=639]

Volumes of polls show that today’s college students believe that marijuana should be legalized and treated in the same fashion as alcohol. Doing this would assure them a means of protecting their future, keeping any unjustified marijuana convictions from ever ending their scholastic career or limiting their prospects for a meaningful occupation.[nggallery id=640]
As we in the medical marijuana community lament the 75th anniversary of marijuana prohibition in the U.S. There are indication that might suggest that the feds are growing tiered of their never ending war on a plant… and may finally end its senseless siege on its own people. In 2011, for the first time ever in this country, a Gallup poll found that most Americans think marijuana should be legalized.
With all of that said… as Ron Paul and Barney Frank get ready to retire… who are today’s most ardent political supporters of marijuana legalization.
