yeah i agree with jerry g... i dont think its necessary for another bleach and redye. if you want to counter the red, use an ash color(green base). I am usually hesitant to suggest an ash color if your hair isnt close to the color you want. since it is, you cant really mess it up. use the same level in an ash and you can use 10Volume developer again same time and all that.

| so i saw some buddies of mine last night that didnt know i bleached/redyed. nobody mentioned anything, although i doubt they would because we were all drinking and having a good time. my hair doesnt look that bad when styled or gelled but when dryed out and frizzed up, you can see a hint of orange/red tint in good lighting. most people wouldnt notice, however im nervous the tester might since theyve seen it all. can you tell when someone bleach/dyes? should i get it corrected at a salon? do they just bleach again and redye it? im glad i didnt go with the 4, would have been to dark. | agreed on the level 4. especially on bleached hair, its really dark. Theres nothing a tester can to do someone for coloring their hair. they might notice, but wouldnt even think it was unusual. if you went to a salon they would definitely not bleach your hair. they would just dye it over with the same level in an ash color, which i am confident you can do yourself if you are really worried about it. also if the tester noticed you had colored your hair, they wouldnt be able to tell you bleached it and would assume you just color your hair like the rest of america(oh yes, even men) |

ya, its real noticable now. the more i look at it in the mirror under the lights. it wasnt as red/orange last night after the dye. i didnt mention it before, but i did use a cap full of ash/light brown dye with the mix of 1 ounce 5 neutral light brown plus developer yesterday. i should have probably used more. what a nightmare! i got to get this fixed and get back to a natural color.

maybe one more dye of just ash light brown will do..... one more question. because of my paranoia and absolute commitment to pass this damn test, im thinking of another bleach session. i cannot fail for to many reasons to explain! if i do bleach again myself, will i still have this problem with the red/orange tint after redye? should i try 1. a straight ash light brown 2. can i mix (like i tried) an ash with a neutral or 3. add a toner and use neutral? P.S. why wont a salon bleach it again if i ask and willing to pay? Last edited by concerned9 : 06-13-2008 at 03:27 AM.

ohhhh if you ask they will! i thought you were asking if they would bleach if you just went in and asked them to fix your color. yeah they would definitely bleach it again if you want them to. I wouldnt worry about fixing the current color if you decide to bleach another time since you will just take all the color out anyways. If you do decide to bleach again, you will probably have to redye twice(the filler thing i tried to explain, how the hair cant go that dark from that light without something in between) for that I would use the neutral color(having the orange underneath the final result isnt bad, it makes a great filler). Then your second time you can mix 2/3 ash and 1/3 neutral(there are measurements on the side of the tube for you) and that should get you a good toned out result without too much red or too much green(ash color base is green). I wouldnt mess with toners if I were you...thats a little more complicated than just dying. It's up to you whether or not to bleach again. You probably dont need it, but if you think you will feel more confident about your test after a second bleach, go for it. Your hair can handle it ![]()

i will have a degree in hair treatment with your help! thanks a ton. i wish i had a friend here with your knowledge. its kind of weird to walk into a salon with a detox shampoo and say "hey ive bleached my hair and redyed twice, now i need you to bleach it again, wash this detox shampoo i brought and redye it with no red!". i guess money talks.

haha you dont have to wash the dye out with the detox shampoo. you can save that for at home right before the test so they wont have any clue. and twice really is enough. I only bleached Dingleberry's pits twice and he passed but totally up to you

gotta tell you a funny story. so today i played golf with a buddy of mine i havent seen since the whole bleach redye method. he walked up to me with his shades on and said "man, with these shades on your hair looks orange!" so that's it, enough with the home brew. tommorrow heading to the salon and come clean. i want another bleach and redye BACK to normal looking hair. cant walk in with this ronald mcdonald look and too scared to keep this experiment going on my own. i know im gonna drop some coin at the salon and honestly i havent received the offer for the job yet (sigh). I thought they were calling today (ive got a good in) with the test following acceptance. will be pissed if this job doesnt come through for whatever reason after a salon visit. what should i expect to spend? got a recommendation of a good and cool hair stylist on south beach (where i live). im sure theyve heard it all there!
