| Like some others, for various reasons, I am probably not able to bleach/redye. Suppose you have about two inch long hair, normally somewhat waivy. What would a chemical relaxer do to my hair, and would it be really noticeable by clients, bosses, etc? |

| I'd love to know the answer. It would be very useful info. I good bleach and redye is barely different from your normal color(in most cases)... |

| Relaxers make curly hair straight. A perm makes straight hair curly. So, if you have curly hair, and use a relaxer, I'd be really surprised if people didn't notice that change.

| true that relaxers make your hair straight, but at such a short length you would really have to go to a professional...i strongly advise against relaxing hair and trying to perm it back(so noticeable and chemically ridiculous). if your hair is wavy and your make it straight it will be noticeable but not totally socially unacceptable/suspicious. Lots of people want to take out the wave, they even make gentler relaxers with corn starch that makes wavy hair straight and beard hair softer and straighter because of the trend in straight hair. |

| Ok I did a relaxer last night. I have short hair as well. My hair normal stays right on my head but now I have little pieces out of place here and there. Overall its not that noticeable. It did take all the body out of my hair and I feel like its plastered to my head but its cool. |

| ohhh yeah. relaxers definitely straighten ANY bend in your hair. That includes body. It also causes breakage, which im assuming are the little pieces here and there. |

| Thanks... I am looking for options other than bleaching a dying... Relaxer is one that's come up, my wife also mentioned a sort of chemical stripper used to get perm chemicals out of hair.... I was a pretty regular smoker tll a bit over 2 weeks ago. Never been faced with a test before; now I really need to pass. Catch is, I still don't know what sort of test I am facing. |

| I'm in the same boat as you and I figure better safe then sorry. Since I'm a female I am lucky that all I have to worry about them testing is my hair. Theres no ?'s asked if we are hairless everywhere else. Quote:
