I'm freaking out - about 70 -80 days or so since I last smoked - smoked about 3-4 times in Feb/Mar - but it had been at least 5 years before when I smoked. I have a hair test on Monday - do you think I will be ok? I dyed my hair and I did the MAC thing 2x. Any other ideas? Also, did the hairconfirm kit - passed but the results were given right away - sent sample and the results posted the day the sample arrived there. Is that reliable? Found out hair test will be done by psychemedics. PLEASE HELP ME

Are you sure? I read in these posts that someone who had been clean for 120 days failed?!

Let me list out more of my situation so you can assess:

My hair is corse, thick, black and long - and I'm not willing to cut it. Although, I'm not sure I would need to given they only test the first 1 1/2 inches?

Also, I did not bleach my hair - only dyed - I keep reading these posts that you must bleach.

How effective is propylene glycol? I have some hair gel that I use everyday that has this ingredient listed.

Isn't it true that the THC in your body continues to be deposited into the hair long after you smoked? So really I could have only 60 days of clean hair?

I know it seems like I'm overboard with this but I am really freaking out as most people and need to know what to do. This test is very important and I cannot fail.

The test is tomorrow morning so I'm not sure if there's much more I can do at this point but to know what I could be facing. Thanks for your replies and help!

Yes, we are sure. You also read that you can smoke about 3 times within that 90 day period and still be pretty much safe.

You dyed your hair and two harsh shampoos. While we cannot say you are safe 100%, I will give you a 98.994% pass.

They cut however long your hair is. Close to the scalp. They wrap the root end in foil to identify the root end. They use the first 1.5" from the root end.
Don't worry. Different treatment according to smoking history.
To my knowlege. No one knows for sure.

To technical to explain. Do a search. If it's not in your bloodstream it can't get into your hair.
Search and don't worry. (I know....it's hard not to worry)

Yes you are as most do. You don't need to do anything but quit worrying. All tests are important and you won't fail.
All you will be facing is waiting for the results and coming back and posting that you passed.

First, thanks for the replies - it helps to hear that you guys think I'll be ok & I appreciate the time that you take for the thoughtful feedback. On the topic of THC being deposited into the hair, I think it's something important to discuss.

90 days seems to be the magic number of days but is it really? As long as you have it running around in your blood, it would continue to deposit in your hair. 90 days allows for your hair to have grown out apx 1 1/2 inches - those 1 1/2 inches would need to be clean in order to pass. So this is what I'm sitting around freaking out about - It's only been 80 days since my last smoke and could only have 60 days worth of clean hair...

Sorry to keep posting but I just don't know what to do and everything I read freaks me out more and more. Anyone out there that could help assure me that it's ok? Does Psychemedics really have a better system that can detect marijuana usage better? The HairConfirm says it's less sensitive in detecting marijuana usage - just wonder how that compares. Please let me know if you think I will be alright.

You are fine, a hair test is a hair test. In the context of employment testing they are all the same.

You are going to pass, just relax...

I put a relaxer in my hair just now - hope that will help

Keep in mind, I have really really think coarse black hair so I am extra nervous

What should I do in the morning? Should I was with PM3? The instructions on the relaxer said not to wash hair for 2 days?? What will happen if I wash it? I hope my hair doesn't fall out!!!

I know you think I'm ok - but I keep reading and some people wind up not ok - was the relaxer going overboard?

People with your smoking history and treatments don't fail, the relaxer will further destroy your hair, but it might make you sleep better...
