Hello all,

I have thick black asian/american hair which I understand is the toughest to remove.

Last smoke was two days ago in the AM - since then have done a lot of home treatments (MAC, Swimmer's shampoo, Baking Soda, etc.) Past ninety days I have smoked on average 3-5 times X week.

I should be going in this week but I can push my test back at most until next Tuesday. Which should give me 7-8 days clean time. Should I excerise, drink gallons of h2o, etc until then?

Jerry, Onetoke - I am willing to do anything.

Bleach + Redye - will absolutely do just tell me which products to get/use and I will take them to the salon I go to. Also regarding timings - should I bleach, bleach, relax then redye? What would be the best situation? I can also do the bleach/redye a few times and right before the test?

Relaxing / Straighten? - Absolutely willing to do - just tell me which is the best way to time them.

Bought the hair treatment kit from AZ Enterprises. Too Late to return but hopefully can still use the product advantageously.

I have done a lot of research but most of the people have much more clean time than I will and also they have more conducive hair.

What products should I get from Sally's? Cost is not really an issue but I just want to pass.

So far I have: T/Gel and T/Sal Shampoos, Denorex, Baking Soda, Disposable combs/shower caps, Strong tea mix (been using that a few times), Hydrogen Peroxide, Clean and Clear and the Hair Mudd Kit (which has all the products inside...have not used yet).


Bleach + Redye: 3 times before test next week?
Relax hair 1-2X ?
Strip hair ? I read it is harsher than bleaching which might be a good thing?

Please help and if you honestly think I have no chance maybe I just won't take the test and say I can't accept the offer right now and maybe wait for a month or so but they also might rescind my offer.

You guys are doing great work - if anything has spurred me to change my life it has been this situation and feeling like this. I am glad you are empowering people to be able to face this head on.

Oh yeah - 5'10", 175 with an average metabolism I guess. People have always told me I have thick hair so go figure.

Just got it cut yesterday, probably around 1"-1.25". I will trim rest of my body hair but the release said I need .5 " at least so I should be okay.

Calm down.

I think your best chance is to follow my method to a tee(it is stickied above).

I see people do all sorts of home brews and method combinations, but my method without modification has by far the most success for regular or heavy users with little clean time.

Dingleberry(actually his girlfriend) has posted very specific details in my stickied thread, as well as addressing questions others have had. Do a search on that handle.

Bleach and redye 3x and I'd give you a well over 80% chance.

Thanks Jerry - just to clarify:

Bleach with 40 volume bleach (how long should I ask them to leave in?) and then redye right away or should I bleach , wait and bleach again and then redye?

What is your take on relaxing / straightening?

Also, what brands of dye and bleach should I ask to use?

I do not have toxin wash - should I take my denorex or tsal/tgel shampoo to the salon where they are bleaching and ask them to use that after bleaching and after dyeing?

Read my stickied post, read the directions by Dingleberry(actually his GF, a hair pro, as I said before) .

I say bleach and redye x2 or x3 because that's what I mean. Bleach, redye, bleach, redye...

I also have addressed substitutes for Zydot and Toxin Wash in my stickied thread. Are Tsal or Denorex high in propylene glycol?

I don't mean to be harsh, but I really like people who do their own research. I'm glad to help, but repeating myself for those who seem to lazy to do their own work gets old.
