Just wondering if you would read my situation and give me your honest opinion. Me: Female, Medium-long Brown/hightlighted hair (thin and porus but alot of it), 5'9, 185 Hair history: End of Feb.- had bad bleached highlights and color put into hair, went next day to different stylist who stripped hair and re-colored to a brown/red. End of March - Recolored hair. End of May- Got hightlights and toner. Had only two hair cuts (trims exactly during this whole time). Situation: Was a regular/light smoker (3-5 times per week, shot gun from husband *if that, I'm rounding up*) medium to good grade stuff, for about a year until out-of-job at begining of April. Stopped smoking April 8. Since had about 3 occassions with smoke (one direct hit 10 days ago at concert.) Went for new job and was asked to take a hair test with less than 24 hrs to prepare. Found this site, went to head shop and store. Did Nexxus Aloe Rid three times night before test. Day of test, did mac's method, baking soda paste, Nexxus Aloe rid, and then Omni Detox shampoo (followed by a conditioner.) Then off to hair test which was done almost three hours after completion of conditioner. Test was Psych. I started job but hair results will not be in until next week and am freaking a bit. In your opinion, what do you think my chances are of passing? I've read all your posts and sure wish I had the time to bleach and re-dye but with only given (less than) 24 hrs to prepare, not sure if this will cut it. Any honest input would help, not really ease my paronoid state, but I think you guys have a good perspective. Just wanted to know what you think. THANKS!!

The aloe rid did nothing, your sessions in the last 90 days are good, your hair type is good for the mac, Omni is good. 80% or better to pass...

Thanks, Jerry for taking the time to read and reply so fast. Again, wish I had the time to do your method but with such short notice, I did what I could. I will post my results and stats to the main thread when they come back! In the meantime, have a great 4th, you've eased my worries a bit that I just might be able to enjoy the weekend!!

Jerry G and Sec ,Thanks a million for replying to me and for giving me some perspective. Not only did this site save me in that I PASSED!! But it really helped calm my nerves during the process. I know that this site is read by SO MANY people who are in similar situations and I hope that they understand that picking ONE method and sticking to it is better than trying ALL methods and risking bad things to their health/hair. (Although, I do understand the desperation) I only had (less than) twenty-four hours and did the method that suited this time frame and it worked. Will it work for others???..I can't say but I can say this; this site brings hope when you are feeling there is none and sometimes that's all we need. A MILLION THANKS TO YOU BOTH FOR STARTING THIS WELL NEEDED THREAD!! ![]() MsNamaste
