I had smoked on weekends from late Feb to May 10th. Before that I hadn't smoked since October. It's a long way out but I know I will have a hair test sometime during the week of August 4th. My hair (red) is short - about .5 inch. I have read the stickies and other posts on here and my question is whether or not I need to sweat this?

It's not going to be 90 days but with my hair being short I feel that I would be okay. Am I wrong?

If they except your head hair as sufficient you should be OK.

If you want to be safe do some preparations. You can never be to safe. With different hair growth rates and consumption levels who knows. Plus you hair needs to be at least 1" 1/2 long for them to use from your head. So read up mate their are many good posts on this website.

False. Although the preferred length is 1.5" less can and has been taken and excepted. It is up to the collector where to take the sample from and up to the lab whether they accept it or reject it.

My sample, for example, was just a hair (pun intended) over 1" which I feel helped me out since they only had approx. 60 day history.

One person I remember reported that they actually shaved his neck line to get a sample and it was accepted.

Most people on here though would recommend you keep your hair close to or just under 1.5" with 1.5" being best but as recorded in some of the posts here, it doesn't NEED to be 1.5".
