Hi. I had a rather unexpected hair test today, I really thought the employer would use a pee test. It was a pshycemedics corporate hair test. The tester cut my hair from the very bottom part of the nape of my neck. Those hairs are very thin and light on me, she cut pieces from about 2-3 inches. The thing I am mostly worried about, is, does that part of your head grow hair much much slower that the rest of your head? My hair overall is very long, but the pieces she cut from the very back were only 2-3 inches naturally.

Background info on me: short, slow metabolism, havent smoked ANYTHING for 7 months excatly

i am white with straight light-medium thickness medium brown hair, and the hair she clipped from the back of my head was the lightest I have. Oh and I had my hair professionally dyed in January (one month after not smoking)

You are more than clean. You can pass any drug test you get for as long as you abstain from smoking.

Hey 1toke, thanks for the quick response. I know you think I'm fine, but do you know if the area they took the hair from could have any effect, the hairs were naturally much shorter than my real hair =(

Do you know what would happen if you failed a hair test. Is it normal for them to retest if I say that it is impossible? Basically, IF I failed, what should I do.. or would it be useless. I need this job, I relocated everything to be here.

You're welcome.
It don't matter. Actually if it was from your neck, under your longer hair. It was probably newer hair which would be even better.
You wouldn't get the job.
It's not normal, but it does happen. Usually though the retest would be at your expense.
You aren't going to fail if your history is correct.

Don't worry......you will be fine.
