Hey, I am in the job search and knew I would be drug tested. I have been clean for just over a month now, but before then was almost a daily smoker for 3-4 months. I knew I could pass a urine test because I have done so before by jsut being clean for 1-1.5 months. But I am worried that I might be hair tested since some of the possible employers are huge companies and have seen reports that they might hair test. So I am not sure that I will be hair tested, but there is a chance. In the event I do have to do a hair test what is the best way to increase my chances of passing? Thanks

i went with the jerry G method after reading through this board. it seems as though while his might screw up your hair for the short term, and is a hassle bleaching it and redying it, it is the best method. i am following it exactly how he said in the sticky.

So basically the only way to go about it is with bleaching? Also once you "cleanse" your hair is it good from then on or do you have to cleanse it on the day of the test?

I am hesitant about the bleach/redye method because I have never done anything like that to my hair before and it would possibly make people I am around suspicous. Is the Macujo method equally good? I understand that nothing is 100% and the best way is to do as much as possible, but I do not think I will be able to do the bleach/redye method. Also it is about to be around 2 months since I last smoked... if I have to do a hair test would it be okay to shave my hair to 1"? I wear my hair short and it would not look unusual... also I have hardly any body hair except for arms and legs. Most of the posts mention taking hair from chest region, will they take from arms and legs if they have to... I am of course assuming they won't take from groin region since other posts have stated that.

Bleaching and redying is over 80% effective as reported here. The Mac method is much less successful, especially on heavy smokers with little clean time. The Mac method seems to work best for light smokers, and those with fine, light colored hair. | |
