I took a hair test yesterday. Just for a little background I'm 6'1, 245, 26 years old former football player. Not in as good of shape as I was a few years ago but still athletic. I have thick medium to dark red/brown hair, that curls after about 4-5 inches. I had been a long time smoker, everyday for about 7 years of my life. Wife, kids, and a real job put an ax on all of that about 6 years ago. since then I,ve been an occaisonal smoker. I have gone upwards of a year without toking. recently, this last spring, my wife and I have smoked alittle on one weekend. We had fun, and then it became an almost mothily habit. we'd send the kids to the grandparents for the weekend and we'd party. then last time I have done this was 23 days ago. just a few tokes. before that it was the weekend before. Before that it was 36 days. at that time it was everyday for a week, allday. before that it was well over a month. Durning the week long binge I shaved my head, and kept it bic short for about 2 weeks. well that is my history. What I have done to mask my smoking in the 8 days of notifcation, is I used a combanation of metods I read on here. I first used the baking soda paste for 10 min, then washed it out right before adding a clorox,peroxide,john freida frizz ease, and regurlar sauve shampoo. I did this about 4 times. then next day I bleached my hair with a lorieal bleach and redyed it with a ammonia based lorieal dye. After that I continued to use the baking soda paste and wash it out with swimmers shampoo. I will find out my results somtine before next monday. Have I done enough?

Why the combination of methods instead of going full bore with bleach and redye?

Full bore? I geuss I was doing that? I used only the products that I found with the ingredience mentioned. On all of the bleech and all of the dye kits I looked at, none said what type of devloper they used. So I went for the whitest bleech and the dye that had ammonia close to the top of the list of active ingredience. As far as using more than one method, I figured these folks over here say this way is the best and those folks over there say that way is the best, why not both. Counldnt hert anything but my scalp!

Had you done thorough research, you would have spent several hours in the results thread evaluating techniques for cleaning your hair. In this research you would have found that one method is based on proper science, and has a much higher rate of passing than all others.

Had you done proper research you would have found the specific recommended products and techniques for the bleaching and redying method.

You may pass, you did do a lot, but every time a person varies from the proven methods, it's a crap shoot...

No offence Jerry, but I did read through all 103 pages of "proven pot head" methods of how to beat a hair test. And again you have, mostly, 2 groups of people that say one way works better than the other. Forgive me if I didnt use your method 100% but I tried to do my best with what I had availble at the time. I made a list of things that seemed to be a part of most sucsses stories, on both sides

Your side 40 vol bleach, low vol dye, get dye that is little lighter than your natral color, suggested brand wellite. Clerk never herd of it, nor had a hair dresser freind of my wife. Get shampoo, perferably toxin wash, or can use a subsitute with acitve ingerident "propylene glycol" is 2nd or 3rd on the list. Repeat if you have time. I found the closest ones to all of these I could, and used them in the same manner as discribed, other than doing it more than once.

Other method....John Freida Frizz ease, blech, peroxide, 2x concentrated tide, clean and clear pink " salicyilic acid. I found all of these.

I did both, and was looking for someone that had done it this way or have herd of someone doing it this way, and there results.

No offence taken, I know my deal is not for everyone, I have no problem with the other treatments.

It just sort of boggles my mind when people don't really follow any proven method, and just sort of throw bits and pieces of what they read here together...

other than redoing the bleech and redying a few times and using toxin wash how did I stray from your method?

I don't see anything about the correct developer, or multiple treatments as Dingleberry and I have suggested...
