Well as many others, I've been ont his site for the last 4 hours reading everything.

I'm 5'2", 120lbs, Dark brown, thick hair, a few inches past my shoulders. I suppose my metabolism is moderate.

1 and 1/2 months ago I was smoking a couple of J's a day, but I mixed it with tobacco (started that when I was in europe). Since then I've been out and not really smoking. Probably have smoked 5 or 6 jays and pitifully, that was mostly stems. I try not to waste (lame I know).

Had a job interview today, they do hair testing. This is a sales job so my appearance is important. THey didn't say when the test would be done. I have three days of training and can then decide whether I want the job or not so I imagine the test will be done Friday or next week.

I'm short on money and need this job. I don't think I have enough for the zydot. I have a detox Recovery Cleanser by "Ojon". My thought process was first, to trim my hair a couple of inches. My hair grows a bit slow so I don't want to cut off too much. Since I may only have 3 days or 5 days... I'm not sure how to go about your treatment.

I'm terrified to bleach and redye my hair 3 times but will do it... just not sure that's enough time to do it.

I will do one bleach and redye tonight, then follow with the baking soda treatment. Can I use deep conditioners between the bleach and redye? I figure after that, if I can find out when the hair test is, do another one on Thursday just in case I need to test Friday. If I find I don't need to test till next week then I feel bleaching and redying the night before the test may be a good idea?? Do you think?

As for the day of, not having the zydot may screw me, can you think of another possibility to use if I cannot get that?

Well, I'm not sure. I'm just going with what your "remedy" says. You say to do that inbetween dyes. If I had taken a chemistry class in school I might have a clue. After all the reading I've done today... the most I've seen written is it's a base. So I'm guessing it helps break down the hair follicle more? My biggest worry is not being able to follow what you have written exactly which is not having the zydot. Everything else I was able to purchase.

Ok.. I've read your post about 15 times in the last day so I'm a little confused. This is yours:

I bleached and redyed my hair 3 times. I washed the bleach and the dye out with a very strong clarifying shampoo(Toxin Wash). I used a 40 volume developer(the bleach, the strongest a layman can buy), and a dye with ammonia that has to be mixed with a 10 or 20 volume developer. I think it is best to go to a pro, but it has been done many times at home. These product are available at any beauty supply store.
-3 times you bleach and redye, you wash out with the Toxin. I have that, that's the "Ojon" I mentioned in my first post though I did purchase swimmers shampoo and conditioner also at Sallys. I also bought a big bottle of 40 developer and 20 with the amonia based dye(s) and bought the bleach.

In between treatments I mixed a baking soda paste and massaged it into my hair. Then I washed with Toxin Wash. A bottle of TW goes a long way used only on your pits.
-The Baking soda treatment or paste, inbetween dyes, as I said, got the toxin wash. I don't have pit hair and not much anywhere else but my head, hence buying the swimmer's if I get through all the Ojon. and I got lots of baking soda.

The day of the test I did the baking soda paste, then a full TW treatment and then a full Zydot treatment. According to Zydot customer service, the effectiveness of their product is enhanced by being preceded by a strong clarifying shampoo. I think these two products compliment each other.
-Day of the test is where I told you I can't follow you exactly. Baking Soda, TW, NO Zydot.

I know of no one who has failed when they followed this program exactly. Many heavy users with little to no clean time have passed. I know of two who failed only bleaching and dying twice, with no other treatments.
-This is my worry, I can't follow you exactly which was pretty much the whole point of my poist in the first place.

If you have some clean time, spread the treatments out a little. Do the last one about a week before your test. If you have less than 10-14 days clean, do the last treatment as close to the test as you can.

-I have some clean time but have no test date, it could be friday, it could be next week. I believe, now that I've gone through this again that you think I didn't read your post a million times becaue I didn't mention all your steps. I felt since you wrote it, you probably didn't need to see it repeated. My point, Mr. Jerry G, is that I can't follow your steps to a tee and had hoped, with your experience that you could one, give me a substiute or two, with the clean time I do have, tell me I probably didn't need the zydot. I realize you are just a man and I have no idea your profession. I made a mistake and now it's biting me in the ass. Lesson learned, I just need to get through this and wanted your advice. I've got a son and a husband. My husband makes enough to pay half our bills and I got laid off last month so this is important to me. I feel like a hypocrite because I did this to myself but I'm just not ready to pay the piper yet. I need this job. Anyway, thanks if you can help.

Well, the only time I have ever used a baking soda paste, was when I was stung by a bee and swelled up severely. I used the paste to pull out the poison and reduce the swelling. (I was stung on the bottom of my foot and swelled past my knee) Perhaps it does the same thing with your hair. It pulls shit out of the inside of the hair shaft when the baking soda dries.

I, personally, think that the more you do to your hair, the better chance you have of passing the test. I dont' really think the order of treatment or the time between treatments matters as much as the quantity of treatment. The more damage you put your hair through, the more crap is washed out of it. Do what you can and don't stress the little details so much.

If your hair starts falling out, it is time to stop for awhile.

Thanks. I was supposed to start training tomorrow. After which you could decide if you wanted to continue on but just got a call that it was moved to thursday and Friday which gives me an extra full day of putting my hair through hell. I'm new to town so I can also travel about and see if I can find a head shop and get zydot. On my first dye now and my hair feels like crap. Sigh...oh well... you do what you gotta do. Thanks again.

Took my test today. I was only able to bleach twice because I ran out last night.

THe first bleach i Just rubbed it in everywhere. I did a bleach yesterday and really took my time brushing every strand if possible but it took two packets. So I bleached 4 days apart, one dye after first bleach and the baking soda treatment, then yesterday I bleached using two packets (40 developer), dyed once with 20 developer then redyed with a store bought kit. I washed with a toxin type wash everyday and swimmers shampoo. I toxin washed this morning and was able to do the zydot. Been clean over 30 days... probably 45 days. Praying to the good ole lord I pass. They use Psych-o-medics. She cut it from the mid section of my head but put the whole 8 or 9 inches of my hair in the envelope. That bugs me. I cut off about 2 inches last night. Wish I could of done more but my scalp is in misery and if my hair was long enough, it would probably strangle me in the night. Anywho, should find out by Wed or thurs. I'll post my results then. Keeping my fingers crossed.
