Publix is a supermarket here in Florida and I plan on applying there. I no they do saliva testing and i will stay clean a week before and after the interview. If i get hired your forced to random testings. Im sure ill fail cuz i smoke 3-4 times a week. Is there anyway to get by it/pass it, and if i fail do i get fired (although i think i no the answer to that last one lol)

I just want to say thanks for posting this. I was actually thinking about applying to Publix. But now hearing they do 'random' tests I do not think I could apply there.

I work at Publix. They give a saliva test, but it's easy to pass. I smoked heavily 4 days up to my test and I still passed. Chew gum up until the actual test, they'll ask if you have been, say no.

As far as random drug tests, they won't unless you give them a good reason too. It's not as bad as it seems once you start working there, trust me. I thought I was the only kid who smokes and it turns out a lot of the management do as well, no one really talks too much about it though.

I have a few friends who work at supermarkets up this way, and while they all say they CAN give random drug tests at any time, I have never heard of anyone actually getting tested (after the initial test). I imagine your drug use would have to REALLY effect your work. Shit my friend who worked at Acme smoked with his manager one time
