So i was working during the strike at Ralphs in california. Since it was during strike there was no pre employment drug test. But now the strike is over, and i have to reapply to get my job. But this time around i have to take a drug test(saliva test to be more specific). Now ive been reading around and it seems that a saliva test really only detects up to a day or 2? I have been smoking basically a year straight daily(maybe 2-3 times some days) im a big guy 6'3 250 lbs, ok metabolism probably like 15-20 lbs overweight. I wasnt really worried because i assumed it would be a urine test or something and i was just going to go buy a detox kit. But as i hand in my re-application they tell me its a swab(saliva) test, and asked me if i wanted to go upstairs and get it over with. I told them i wasnt able to now but i could tomorrow(monday)(might have sounded suspicious, but i had no plan on taking any drug test that moment till i found some info about it). So i have said i would come back tomorrow, now i havent smoked since yesturday night(saturday night). I also called my local smoke hop about maybe some kind of saliva detox kit and they said they are getting some in either monday or tuesday. Ever heard about these kits? decent? and i can either get lucky if they get them in tomorrow and take test later that day. Or if my smoke shop doesn't get them in till tuesday i could just not go in to take the swab test till tuesday or wednesday and i dont think they will mind. Or what if i go and take the test tomorrow after no smoking for 1-1 1/2 days after drinking a **** load of water? chances of passing? or i could just not go in to take the swab test till tuesday or wednesday after not smoking and making it like 3-4 days clean. Like i said, ive read that the tests only detect like a day or 2 ahead. So i might be clean enough to pass. what do u guys think? I dont horrible need this job, just would be a nice source of cash.

well, 63 views and not a response yet. I hope it isnt a lack of information but a lack of comment. Im deciding to go ahead and take the test tomorrow hoping i will be clean enough after drinking a crap load of water that i have today. Im also going to brush my teeth and gums like crap tomorrow beforehand. Also using listerine while cleaning teeth as well as a few mins before walking in and taking it. I guess i will wish myself luck and crap since no one else has. Lets see how i do.

Drinking loads of water is pointless, as that dilutes your bladder. It's only useful for urine tests, and not oral tests.

I've posted a study about this, and it only registered positive a day or two later. But that was just single use.

But (normally) they're going to check for THC, and not the metabolites, which has a shorter half-life.

What you're doing sounds like a plan to me. However, make sure the listerene doesn't have enough alcohol in it to cause you any problems with the test.

Ok, so today i went in and took the test. They said it would just be a few days for the result, and well im hoping for the best. well see.....
