...i am worried sick about my upcoming test...i check this forum at least 3-4 times a day to read any new posts...so i found this and thought i'd share...can anyone back this up? found this Q&A at http://www.drugtestingnetwork.com/hair-testing.html Is hair testing accurate? Hair is excellent for testing for the use amphetamines (including ecstasy), cocaine (and metabolite), heroin (as morphine) and PCP. Marijuana (THC) is a fat-soluble drug, and does not typically deposit well in hair, causing a high percentage of "false negatives", a negative result in someone who smokes marijuana frequently. On the other hand, hair is a superb choice for detecting heroin use, as monoacetylmorphine, the first metabolite of heroin, deposits well in the hair but rapidly converts to morphine in the urine. Monoacetylmorphine comes only from heroin, and is specific marker for heroin use if found.

The link is actually: http://www.drugtestingnetwork.com/hair-testing.htm There is no 'l' after .htm I've seen a few places mention that THC is harder to detect in hair because it does not deposit as well as the other drugs. I've also seen it mentioned that the hair test is equal to urinalysis when it comes to detecting THC - whatever that means. I suppose that could mean it detects approximately the same number of users. I'm not sure.

i have heard that hair testing is greater at detecting frequent users, since its really easy to pass a urine test a couple days before you take the test. its then harder to fake a hair test.

As a frequent smoker, I would not be able to pass a urine test with just a couple days notice. I could not dilute the sample enough or would be caught for dilution. Psychemedics would like to lead everyone to believe that a heavy smoker could dilute with just a couple days notice since they are promoting their hair test but I don't think most heavy smokers could pass a urine test where they check for dilution. They would have to sub to pass. I think what makes the hair test harder to beat is that it is similar to taking a urine sample everyday for 90 days. 3 clean weeks for a smoker may or may not allow for a good urine sample (can check on the urine test board for more info) but definitely wont pass a hair test (without bleaching/gasoline/dying hair etc...) because of the larger window into the user's history that a hair test provides. The user would need more clean days (or lower drug concentrations somehow) to bring the drug concentrations to cutoff levels.
