| ok so i'm supposed to complete a drug screening for my internship but they never told me what kind it was. i'm kind of freaking out because i'm pretty sure i can pass it if it's urine, but blood or hair and i'm screwed. does the fact that it was called a drug "screening" mean anything? Also, this is an internship for a very very well-known hospital with a lot of resources. Does this make a blood/hair test more likely? i've googled a million different word combinations and cannot for the life of me find something helpful. any advice? |

| oh, i forgot to add--they're also testing for nicotine. does this have any effect on the type of test it will be? |

| "Drug Screening" is a generic term and doesn't imply what type of test it will be. I'd assume that if its a hospital job there is a good chance they might do a hair test, I'm sure they can easily find nicotine with hair testing as well.... Now that is really riding the line of privacy issues if they're trying to find out if you're a smoker or not. Who knows they just might do a 13 panel urine test. If you really want to know you could make an anonymous call to the HR dept and ask what type of drug testing they do. |

| thanks, that's actually very helpful. and yeah i was definetly pissed about the nicotine thing. especially considering they didnt even tell me until AFTER i had been offered the job. it's one thing to offer absolutely no relief to smokers on the job, but monitoring wether or not they smoke in their free time is a little much. it's all part of promoting a "healthy lifestyle". i'd like to see them pull this shit on an obese person. all they have to do is stop eating 14 pounds of cheeseburgers a day and i'm going through withdrawal. |
