Well I decided to get analytical about this......

Ive been trying to smoke and self saliva test to truly determine what my detox time is. I did pass the test given to me at work...at least i think i did...still have my job.....and i cant ask.....but as a very mild smoker these days I'm tryng to determine if I can smoke Friday night and Sat morn and still test negative Monday afternoon....48-56 hrs... So i bought 10 saliva test kits from Drug Alcohol test.com....1st trial tested after 96hrs of mild weekend smoking and negative..2nd test was mon morning after fri night, sat during day and a little sun morning....tested negative mon morning.....3rd and 4th were done on sun morning after slightly more smoking on fri and sat.....negative again...Im beginning to think that these tests are bunk!!!! anyone have experience with these....the ones that you press your saliva from the swab into a dropper and then drop onto a test card? Its supposed to be the standard 5panel test..but i keep coming up negative!!!!! Granted i dont smoke very much...around 12 bong hits in any given weekend...normally mid grade commercial....Is it possible that i can still remain below the test limt? Would like some feedback b4 i blow another $100 on home tests (this time from a different manufacturer though)...Thanks in advance

Experience has informed us that 72 hrs is the "safe period" for detoxing prior to a saliva test. This assuming that you: brush and floss after smoking and frequently thereafter, that you use a peroxide-or alcohol rinse, and you suck on a lot of Altoids prior to the test. This is a rigorous procedure; however, you did not say that you did it prior to your tests. Yet, you reported that you were passing up until 24 hrs after smoking? Either the test sticks are inaccuate or your oral cavity mucosal tissue turnover rate must be like that of a shark!

just like researcher said, saliva tests are a very bad way of testing only because marijuana wears off of your saliva glands in about 3-4 days, hair testing is the best way to test someone, it's very hard to mask and it stays there intill the next time you get a hair cut, and you can also tell exactly when they smoked.

And, precisely b/c of the fact that "saliva testing" is only accurate for 72 to 48 hrs and that even then it is somewhat inaccurate that at our NORML meetings I always advocate for 'saliva testing' by employers. Also, most stoners find it extremely difficult to honestly abstain for more than 3 days and will have high risk of failing a UA, its much easier for stoners to abstain for 1-2 days then pass the saliva test. So, all in all, we don't mind advocating for pre-employment drug testing given that the test is 'saliva' b/c it comes closest to predicting current intoxication by THC.
That being said, the casino industry is always advocating for hair tests; which although are accurate as you said, really give no indication of 'current intoxication' by THC---based on their faulty logic it mean that you got high 90 days ago and you are still high from that one time!

Your logic is faulty in the fact that one time use will not show positive on a hair test. It takes at least 3 smoking sessions within that 90 day period to test positive on a hair test. To an employer, this is probable indication of a frequent marijuana user. If you only used one time, then the employer wouldn't have a positive result for you.

Again, who is the "we" you speak of? Certainly you don't speak on behalf of Marijuana.com.
