| I am a female occasional smoker....before the test I had long blonde (Color-treated...natural medium brown) hair. I had not smoked since December (and had maybe smoked a total of 5 times in my life before then), but on May 22-24 I visited Amsterdam and shared about 8 tobacco joints (at the absolute most...was probably more like 6) with my boyfriend and ate one space cake. I knew I was going to have pre-employment drug testing but I didn't think I would have to take it until late July/early August. Late on June 25th(Thursday), I recieved a HireRight drug test, specifying that I have the test done with in 48 hours. The next morning I was flying out to my new location to apartment hunt, and was not going to be back until the following Monday afternoon. I was prepared to do some treatment but I didnt think it would be so soon. I had already ordered 2 bottles of Toxin Wash, 2 Packages of Zydot, and since I had an idea I might have a hair test had been frequently washing my hair with t-gel, t-sal, swimmers shampoo, tide, clorox bleach, and hyrodgen peroxide and another deep cleaning shampoo. When I found out about the test, I bleached my hair (washed out with toxin wash) and redyed it (washed that out with toxin wash) did a few baking soda treatments, with more toxin wash, t-gel, t-sal ect. The next morning before I left I bleached agian and dyed again. (Using 40 Volume Bleach and dye that contained preroxide) Now my already colortreated hair began to actually break when it had been previous treated, leaving a layer of hair that was only about 3-4 inches which had been past my shoulders before. However, This dye left my hair an ugly grey color so right away I had to dye it to a darker brown with looked ok, except now at this point my hair had actually been so damaged that it continued to break off and was extremly frizzy and porus. (hard to dry) That weekend, while I was away, I washed my hair about 4 times with all the products I had and did a couple toxin wash cycles. When I got back, the day before my test, I washed my hair many times with the products, mixed in with a lot of baking soda paste treatments, and a couple mccujos using the t-sal instead of clean and clear. I also used some dishsoap as suggested by the toxin wash instuctions. The day of my test I did 2 full toxin wash treatments, broken up with 1 package of zydot and use of the other products. Right before I left I used another package of Zydot. On June 30th, When I went to the test he had me lift my hair up and he took a small clip from the baby hairs under my neck, however he left about 1/4 of an inch attached my head. Since I did so much to hair and had only smoked a little amount, I was hoping it would be easy for me to slip under the cut-off levels. This entire weekend I have been freaking out because I know that if you pass you should have your results back in 48-72 hours...(what Ive read here) and I dont understand what has taken so long unless there was a probablem with the time frame I took it or if I didn't sign that paper. I have read that sometimes failed results take upto 10 days......but I have also seen 3-5....So since I haven't hear from an MRO does this mean I'm ok...or should I still be worried?? Any Insight is appreciated....Thanks! Last edited by smile1463 : 07-13-2009 at 05:48 PM. |

| With your light usage and treatments, you should be fine as far as passing/failing the drug test goes. It appears that the hold up is the time it took you to take the drug test. You should explain that you were actually apartment hunting in your new location and didn't have an opportunity to take the hair test until you returned to your hometown. Also, a lot of times, the paperwork doesnt' get to where it needs to be on time. I think that is part of the problem with your test. You need to stay on top of it. Call the HR Staff on Monday and make them handle it. Stress that you took your hair test at your first opportunity and that you were delayed in taking it because you were in the process of moving for this job. Create a sympathetic situation for yourself. Make them want to help you. |
