I'm just wondering because I'll have about an inch of head hair for my test May 17th and am wondering if they'll take that or move to my body? I know they try to get 1.5 inches to get the 90 days but there has to be some sort of cut off. Has anyone had less than 1.5 inches taken from their head? All my body hair will be trimmed pretty short.

I just went through a hair test with a bunch of other people. Some of them only had an inch and they took 2 or 3 samples from the back of their head. I'm not sure how short before they look for another place though. I would prepare my armpits just in case. Oh, I heard they took chest hair from one guy. good luck

I took my test yesterday...they shaved both my legs from my ankle to my knee. You have to have about 2 inchs of hair on your head at the very least because they dont cut it to the root they want a 1 and a half inch piece for a 90 day history...half inch per month............good luck........see my other post for details on my "experence".other people who had enough hair on their head got 4 samples taken 40-60 strands in each sample.......i have a flat top hair cut ....maybe a inch on top....this was not enough so they said...legs,chest or underarm....one guy shaved all of the above and they took it from the "south pole"... the one place he didn't shave....he claimed to be a body builder..LOL...he was like 5' 6" 90lbs...LOL...body builder ya right!!

I am a personal trainer on the side 6’2” 210lbs and an avid mountain biker. I usally keep my legs and my chest shaved. But realizing that I had a hair test coming up I shaved my pubs and my arm pits. My hair is about 1 ½ to 1 ¾ on top.
My question is, what do you think they will do if they want to get hair form somewhere else? Will they fail me because of that or will they just have to take the sample from my head and use what the can get?

They will take your Fingernails.....this test is tough to get around....mine was for a federal job....if you don't have enough hair they will take figernails ....there is a spot on the form that asks where the sample came from and finger nails is one of the options.....they shaved my legs....my hair sounds about the same as yours 1"-1-1/2" long....they said has to be at the least 2 1/2"

Well my fingernails and toenails are now freshly clipped as far back as I could take them. I don’t see how they could get any of my nail without taking some meat with it.
