Hi forum! I've really enjoyed being a member of this community for the last month or so. Users like Sec & Jerry & so many other regulars are very kind and compassionate to take an interest in each posters situation. I appologize for not mentioning all by name - just a big THANK YOU to the forum.

39 yrs old
Average build, kind of thin
Light brown hair, some streaks of blonde, some streaks of auburn
ALL my hair is thin.
It's .5 to 1.5 around the sides and crown, 2 - 3 inches on top.

I'm balding on the frontal 3rd of my head. I still have hair there, but it's very thin and "miniaturized". I believe this is because it constantly receives less and less bloodflow before it eventually falls out and doesnt grow back. Awesome, I know.

My History
Today is my 41st day of abstinence!
I'm expecting to be tested in approx. 1 month. I will be approx 60 - 70 days clean at that point. Most likely 60.

Up until I stopped, I had been enjoying approx. 1 - 3 bowls of really dank one hitter quitter on a daily basis..but I would have full 3 hit bowls . This was my useage for 3 months. Prior to that I had been on the straight and narrow for 10 months - not even a puff.

At day 21 of abstinence, I shaved my arms, chest, and arm pits.

My Plan

- 3 bleach and redyes, 1 week apart
- I plan on doing baking soda and shampoo treatment between my bleach and redyes
- Zydot the day of the test

Questions

1.) When I go to the salon for my bleach and redyes, what product should I have my hair washed out with during the procedure? Some have said Toxin Wash..some have just used swimmers shampoo. I already have ION Swimmers Shampoo from Sally's.

2.) At the Salon, I'm assuming this is the process: My hair is bleached. The bleach is washed out..then the shampoo is used for a few minutes. Then rinsed. Then my hair is dyed. Then rinsed. Then I use the shampoo again. I've been really unsure on this part - as far as when you rinse.

3.) I plan on supplementing my bleach/redyes with baking soda and water/MOM pastes..and then using a clarifying shampoo. I read a thread (http://www.marijuana.com/blood-hair-...-products.html) where Jerry suggested using Tide or Dawn. I'm unsure at this time what the best product to use is after Baking Soda/MOM - Tide, Toxin Wash, or Swimmers Shampoo.

4.) Some users have mentioned using Zydot multiple times. Any comments on this?

Update:

I've worked for this company going on 11 years..and I had no idea HR made calls on weekends. I now know that they do. Test has been moved up slightly.

What I've done so far:

- Bleach w/ 30, ION, Dye w/ 20, ION
- Baking soda, ION

My adjusted plan:

I think I'm going to hit it with a 30 bleaching 3 more times in the next 10 or 12 days. That will include 3 more dyes as well.

That will put me at 4 bleaches w/ 30 devel., 4 dyes w/ 20.

I'd like to leave a day after bleach/dyes to let my scalp rest. But the day after I rest, I plan to do a Toxin Wash treatment. I will complete my 4th Toxin Wash on the day of the test, followed by a Zydot.

I'll be about 55 (or so) days clean after exactly 3 months of heavy daily use. Nothing for 10 months before that.

Any comments or suggestions are much appreciated!

Side note: Day before the test I will cut my hair to 1.25" at it's greatest length on the top of my crown.

I think I saw somewhere where JerryG said he has never had anyone fail after 3 bleach and re-dyes. You did 4, so based on that, I would say you are in a very good position.

The only reason I'm even considering 4 is because I'm not using 40 developer. Since I'm balding, I think I will look terrible with patches, just in the case that something goes wrong.

Also, can you please comment on my 1.25" plan? I had just edited to reflect that.

I think you are in good shape with 4 bleaches and dyes.The only thing I would say is make sure the cut is not too short or they might take sample from an untreated area.
1.25" is probably OK but I wouldn't go any shorter.
That's my biggest fear now is that after treating my head I need to trim body hair to prevent collection from somewhere else that I haven't treated!

Thanks, Korn. You are absolutely correct. I can't go too short.

I'm thinking 1" is too short..but that 1.25" will most likely slide, and I'm kind of basing that off of what others have posted. There is one specific post where a hair collector mentioned to a tester that the P-test company only demands at least 1", not 1.5". Of course this is pure hearsay.

I don't have any testable body hair.

Update. I think an update in this thread as I go through everything is beneficial for the forum. I think Korn & Lions' threads are also very helpful for people, and all of our situations are different.

I've recently changed my mind about the 40. Gotta hit it hard, no pain no gain.

What I've done so far (each bullet represents one day):

- Bleach w/ 30, ION, Dye w/ 20, ION
- nothing
- Baking soda, ION
- nothing
- Bleach w/40, ION, Dye w/ 20, ION
- nothing
- Palmolive quick wash, Baking soda rinse, Toxin Wash

No problem after the 2nd bleach & dye. The only thing I've noticed about my scalp was after the TW treatment. It feels very tight and sensitive. Not sure if it's the baking soda or the TW. Toxin Wash takes a while to wash out.
