The effects of dyeing

I completely agree with you on this. The reason for my re-dye's were to damage my hair further with the ammonia in the dye, not for the color itself.

For the people who post, "the redye is mostly done to conceal a bleaching, as to appear normal to coworkers, etc." they are correct in the sense of concealment, but the re-dye's are a very important step in the bleach/re-dye process; skipping the re-dye's based on the statement above would be a misinformed faux paux.
