This doesn't concern blood or urine tests, but is a different kind that I've never even heard of.. Basically i was caught smoking and have to wear "ATC drug patches", a patch that is put on your back, and every week you go and get a new one put on (and it is tested for pretty much every drug I've ever heard of). They can tell if you take it off, and even one hit will show up. It tests sweat from your body for THC/other chemicals that are in the drugs it tests for. I have to wear it for around 4 months, its been just over one and I'm goin nuts. I used to smoke every day, sometimes multiple times depending on the situation. Does anyone have ANY information on how to get around these ****ers? I'm begging you, anything will help. Thanks in advance

I personally have not heard of this, but I am trying to find some information for you. Do you have the packaging or know who makes/sells it? Was it from a perscription? A drug store? Do you have any labels from it? How can they tell if you take it off?

It's made by Pharmchem, ATC drug testing are the people that put it on me once a week. It's not perscription, you pay $40 a week for it, $70 if you come up positive. Basically it is a cotton like squard about one inch by one inch in diameter, surrounded by a border of about half an inch of sticky stuff that holds it down. It lasts on average about 7~10 days, but if it starts to come off, you can go in earlier. The sticky stuff holding it down is like a very thin plastic layer, and if it is not sticking enough on any side so that the cotton tester thing is exposed to the air, they think you tampered with it. Thats all the info i have right now, i tried going to the pharmchem website but it wasn't working, ill try to get the URL and post it here.

Okay, This is what I found out from my sources... The web sites address is http://www.pharmchem.com/ I got this information from one of their sales reps, so take it in stride. What they sell is a product that is approved by the FDA to see if people are using during a specific time period. Right now the patch is only approved (fda approval) for 7 days. This has been used in court and probation folks and from their source has not lost a case when used correctly. The big deal here is that the person/people applying(and administrating) this patch must be trained and certified to do it, or it just doesn't work out in court. They test for marijuana, cocaine, speed (meaning meth), opiates and pcp. I realize that I am speaking of other substances, but I think that this is appropriate for this topic. Please forgive me. The way that they figure out if it has been tampered with is because it will not stick on the skin again if pulled off. It is also checked to see if there is any discoloration on it (due to dead skin) when removed by a "qualified" individual. I take it that you are using this product because of legal necessity and not due to any other reason. My advise to you is to make sure that the people that are administrating it to you are certified. If not, it will not hold up in court (even the sales rep told me that) I was also told that the only way that they can make this detourant work is because the person who uses it is either under a court order to do it or similar. Meaning, if you take it off, you violate probation and are screwed. They do not encourage this device for home use (parents, teachers etc) because it takes training to put it on, take it off and read the results. I have given the sales rep my name and address, and will be getting some samples in the mail within the next week. What specifics do you (or anybody else) have concerning this product? I can grill the sales rep, and let you know accordingly. Are you court ordered? If so you may be screwed. I asked what happens if somebody using it says "oh, I lost it". They told me that you need to go back to where it was given or you will violate your legal responsibilities. How bout you let us know the specifics, and let's see if we can help. Best of luck, Daniel

Wow thanks for the quick responce with lots of information ![]() I don't have any legal obligations to wear the patch, my parents caught me smoking awhile ago, and are making me wear it (im 17, in highschool, and live at home). I can't just say "you can't make me wear the patch", because if i do, I will lose my drivers license (I lose it for a month if i test positive, and have to wear it longer). The people that put it on/take it off me are certified ![]() From the research I've done there is no way to get around the patch without looking suspicious. Thanks again for all your help, it really means a lot to me!

I've done a lot of searching on the net today for any way to get around it, and on all the sites that give info on how to pass 'all' tests say the exact same thing: "A band-aid type patch is worn for a week or more to absorb perspiration. If illicit drugs are used during the time the sweat patch is worn, the patch will be positive when the lab tests it. The patch has a tamper-proof design - no thanks to 3M, who manufactures the patches. (Don't sweat it; we'll find a way to tamper with the silly patch PharmChem Laboratories Inc. created the patch, and got market approval from the FDA. The FDA permitted the patch for detecting cocaine, amphetamines, and opiates. They are working on getting FDA clearance to use the patch to test for marijuana and PCP. The FDA already gave permission to use it in the workplace. PharmChem will sell the patch to law enforcement and drug rehabilitation agencies in 1996. Accuracy of the sweat patch remains unknown. No one has disclosed any information reguarding how inaccurate this test is. Bad lab procedure is a very big problem in the testing industry, and it's hard to tell how prone to human error the sweat patch test is."Note they say that they WILL find a way to get around it, suggesting that there currently isn't a way. I think I'm SOL, so you don't have to put in all the effort to order patches and stuff unless you just want to further your own knowledge on the subject ![]() Either way I'll check back here later in case anyone found something.

| No problemo at all to help you out... I was told from their sales rep that it was also approved by the FDA for marijuana. Your data is probably fairly old (you quoted something that will happen in 1996)... I will grill her tomorrow to make sure that is a fact. Again, it is not recommended (even by the manufacturer) by home users, ie, people like you that are in trouble with their parents. So whats the deal? Are your parents making you go someplace every week to get it checked? Or are they doing it themselves? I get some samples in a few, I hope to be able to tamper with them somehow. Best of luck again! | Ya my parents make my drive like ~40 mins each way once a week to get the thing put on.. Every week you get the prior patches results, showing all the categories it tests for and says positive/negative. One of the categories is THC, and they've told me that marijuana will show up (sucks cuz i dont wanna do anything besides pot). Next time I go in (tommorrow i think), I'll ask them why it's not recomended for home use, maybe there is a reason besides inconvenience. Anyways in a few weeks I'm heading to Nepal for three weeks to be an assistant in a school, and tell the students about American culture I can't wear the patch there, and the parents said I *might* not have to continue wearing it when I return, so maybe its not as bad as I thought.Again, thanks for all the help you have done so far, and all the effort you are continuing to put out to help me I really appreciate it man. |

you know what would be cool, is if u could get some new patches somewhere (same brand and everything) then when u get home after they put the patch on, rip it off and toke a lot. then when u have to go back just put the new one on. think that would work? or can they tell how long the patch has been on?

The patches are numbered, so they know if you replaced it with a new one. I did get my free "samples" and information package and will be writing more about that over the next few days. Daniel
