Will I pass my hair drug test if I only smoked one hit 5 weeks ago. I took the test with quest Diagnostics.

hmmm...i wish i could give ya a more concrete answer...but you really need to give more background info to help us out with...like how much, how much prior to...how long ur hair, yada yada...plus...did u do anything as precaution? if you didnt i doubt u passed...but dont count on me

I have only had 1 hit in my life and that was it. I did use a detoxifying shampoo and my usual shampoo is head and shoulders. I have long dark hair, have a thin athletic body and am pretty active (more than most people) with a fairly high metabolism--in other words I can pretty much eat what I want and how much I want without worrying too much about my wt.

you should be fine; most run into problems with hair being chronic smokers and having THC metabolites constantly deposited on their hair follicles i.e. by smoking everyday

OK thanks. Does anybody know how long the test results take? and do they call you or go straight to the employer?

they go to the employer; in many instances you will not ever hear about it again if you pass; usually you will only hear about the test if you fail it and the employer has to report this in reference to why they are terminating their job offer to you.

Results can take anwhere from a few business days to a few weeks depending on the lab that administers the test, and the promptness of the individual HR department in the business you are going to work for. With paperwork such as this, it all depends on how efficient the company is and how fast the results are reported from the labs; also, some labs will send out your results to be tested, where others are done in house.

I took the test on a tues and it has been 6 days so far and my employer has not called me. My orientation is one week away and I already know the exact date and time. If they have not called me yet does that mean I passed?

boy, i usually would think that if they hadn't called u then that means u failed...then again since u say u only taken "one" hit in ur whole life then, like melano said, you should have no problem whatsoever!

Since you are a moderator and read as though you know what you are writng about, I'm going to go with your (happy?) thoughts on this and try to stop stressing out so much. I will let you know what the results are as soon as I know.

Just wanted everyone to know that I passed my hair test. I found out that my papers went through and that the only time they WOULDN'T is if I failed. Yipee!
