| I must take a blood test for a job working in a hospital, photographing children. I understand why they must do this, but I am a daily smoker and need to know how long it will take to leave my bloodstream. I want this job so badly, but I have smoked very recently, (a few grams in the past 24 hours)and daily for years. I am very thin, but not sure if that matters. I have found on this forum and others, very conflicting information about blood tests. Some seem to think it takes months, and others claim your blood is clean within hours. Please help! I can postpone the test, but not sure how long. I just need to know if I'm screwed and shouldn't go, or if I have a chance of passing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| blood does clear very quickly; however, a recent smoke could still cause trouble for a blood test; you need some time to clean out prior There is conflicting evidence on blood testing, but rest assured that it takes a lot less time for blood to clean out compared to urine. |
