Have been reading this site daily, reviewing posts, and now would like your opinions. Here is our story. Husband and I both chronic smokers (about a joints worth a day in a bowl). Hubby got laid off and now we are on the "job quest". He cut his hair down to about 1/2" and then one week later we quit smoking. Bought Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo and Treatment and started using it twice a day the same day we quit smoking. One week later, I bleached his hair (Friday evening) and then colored it back to the original color on Sunday. Now we have finished week 2 of the Aloe Rid process. Yesterday went and got Vinegar and Tide, and are doing that 2 times a day, along with the Aloe Rid process. He has passed the phone interview, and will have the "in person" interview on Tuesday (8-10). We don't know for sure if the hair test will be scheduled right away or not, just trying to be prepared for it. His hair right now is about 3/4" all over, and there is no body hair at all for them to take (will be blaming me for that - "wife's aversion to body hair"). How does all this sound? Thanks in advance for any input, this place has given me a lot of great info!

sounds like you are doing everything you can to help beat the hair test; you should continue your methodology, continue to abstain from smoking, and report to us how the results come out. Good luck

OK, went and had hair taken today. Have been using the Aloe Rid twice a day for 3 weeks, abstaining for 3 weeks, bleached hair, colored back to normal, vinegar soak twice a day, used tide and Aloe Rid for one week, and just for good measure bought Root Clean and used it this morning, about 3 hours before they took the samples. They have said it will be done today, and he has a start date of next Thursday. I am a nervous wreck right now, keep your fingers crossed, and thanks so much for all the help here!!!!

OK, it has been a miserable experience. Had the test, got a call saying that the sample had not been initialled correctly and he had to retest. The employer said just come start work and they would send him out to test that day. Showed up, started work, went to test at about 11:00 am. Had done the whole Aloe Rid, vinegar, Tide process, had abstained for the 3 weeks since we got the word that it would be a hair test, had 2 hair cuts and also added a treatment with Root Clean the day of both testings. He has been working already for 3 days. Got the call from the lab this morning to go over any other meds he might be taking because he failed the test. Said they tested sample twice to be sure. He denied like crazy, saying it just simply couldn't be - HR came and walked him out within an hour. So people, it's still a gamble now matter how hard you try - detox products ( at least this particular one) don't guarantee anything. We just fired one up, and have vowed that this will be the last time that anyone will invade our privacy this way EVER again. Next offer that comes in and says "Hair Test Required" will just be passed over. Good Luck to everybody else trying to pass - hope your experience goes better than ours!

...i have a test tommorrow, and probably won't pass as I just smoked yesterday (only my 2nd time in about a year too)It's like we are made to feel ashamed and bad because of smoking weed, when we are just as hard working as anyone....which sucks because I really want this job. Good luck on your job quests...seems like resturants are always hiring lol...I may just go back to my old resturant I used to work at, but i hate the food industry ![]() | |

Hello: This is my first time on this forum. I joined to help my friend who has a job possibility at GM and they hair test. Friend abstained for 3 years until a recent vacation this past summer. He has always kept hair short. Any ideas on how to help him pass hair test? From what I've read here, it sounds iffy! Help! Apple
