alright heres my tale:

first the stats: 6'2" short light brown hair, 165lbs, low body fat and high metabolism (i'm sure these last two characteristics don't affect the hair testing situation as much as with urine tests, but i can't help but think i have an advantage over bigger people with slower metabolism)

i would say when i smoked i was a light smoker, at the time of my hair test it had been about a month since i smoked. i might smoke five times a week but it was all really small amounts because i had good stuff and i get where i need to be really easily (just imagine now after not smoking for a month Hah) - so yeah - light smoker. another thing going for me.

so i found out i had to take a hair test and kinda flipped cuz i didn't think there was anything i could do...but i relaxed a bit after i found this site and the various threads. the macujo story sounded good and i thought considering the things i had going for me it would almost surely work for me.

anyway i got my hair cut a few days before i'd take the test, down pretty short, about to 1.25-1.5 inches, did the macujo method the night before (heated up the vinegar and tried to keep my head warm for that part (hard to do but i think it helps, if not can't hurt right?)) and the morning of i did it as well, then i used Detoxify Brand Root Clean (i have strong doubts about this product, BUT if it helped AT ALL i was willing to use it, and i figured it would help at least a little bit) - it was also the only product the head shops here sold and they all said it was great (of course).

well i took the psychemedics test, and on the forms it said if i tested positive or if there was a problem with anything they'd call within 72 hours. i took the test just a little less than two weeks ago - haven't heard anything, so i'm still not 100% positive, but i am pretty damn sure i passed.

yeah so i really feel like the macujo works if you do it correctly, how can it not??? astringent alone just disolves oily **** like nothing so....i don't know, i really believed in it maybe that helps. the root clean probably didn't help too much, but it could have, you never know.

i'll post again if someone has questions or if it turned out that i did not pass.

oh yeah, my test was for a large beer company based in st. louis missouri .

well, i passed the test, officially. i didn't get the *#@)(@% job though, because they did a background check, and among the notes of how great a person i am from all my previous employers, they found a five year old cannabis charge. - it was supposed to be wiped off my )(@#U$+ record +)(&#%@+)(&@#%+&)(%#@+()&@#%+@#()&%#%+@()&!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

here are the details of my hair test:

i had one days notice. did macujo the night before and used all clear shampoo the morning of.

i did the macujo method the way it was listed, however, instead of using the clean and clear pink liquid, i bought the clean and clear oil-free acne cream stuff, just because of the oil-free part. i figured that the last thing you'd want to do is coat your hair with oil while trying to strip it down. i'm usre theres essentially no difference between the pink liquid and the oil-free cream, but i had to make a quick decision... both have salicylic acid and one said oil-free.

but thats it.

i traced back my smoking history and added up 12 occasions when i smoked. 4 of them were light sessions (about 3-4 tokes) and 8 of them heavy all night sessions (smoking from about 10pm to 3am non-stop). the heavy sessions took place around 6-12 weeks timeframe before the test and the four light sessions took place in the most recent 6 weeks before the test.

also, i have black hair, but its very thin... not thinning, but just thin.

the person who collected the sample didnt cut very close to the scalp. she cut about 1/4" inch away from my scalp, and only ended up with a sample only 1" long.

i plucked the hair around the sample area and measured both what she cut and what she didn't

what does that mean?

well, if hair grows at 1/4" every two weeks, then my most recent two weeks doesnt show up. and by only collecting a 1" sample, she's essentially knocking off the last month of the sample.

therefore, theoretically she would have knocked off potentially 4 heavy sessions and two light sessions off of the record...

did the labs send back my sample and demand more hair?

no.

did the person collecting my hair follow procedures exactly how theyre supposed to?

no.

and so we come back to my theory as to why every little detail matters in these tests... anything you can do to skew the results has an impact on the results.

just something to keep in mind for everybody.

anyways, i owe a great deal of thanks to everybody on this forum...

without the help of this forum and the people sharing their knowledge, i'd probably be off wallowing in my misery somewhere deep in the forest or something... kinda like blair witch but unemployed and with THC metabolite encrusted hair

ok so i finally heard today that i passed the hair test!!! Here is my story: i stopped smoking on dec 21st, (regular smoker before that-daily 2-3x, mixed kind and middie) didn't do anything until dec 27th. used the maccujo method once a day (vinegar for 15min, clean & clear for 15min and then tide liquid)until jan.1st. the day before the test, jan 2nd-sunday, i did the maccujo 5x and believe it or not also included spray and strip paint stripper-talk about burning your skull!!!-the morning of the test i did the maccujo first then used the test-in shampoo. needless to say i passed the psychmedics test! i'm not really sure what did it (from what i've read here it probably wasn't the 80 dollar shampoo)but it did raise some questions in my head.
1) maybe they saw that i had a new wife and baby and that i looked very straight and narrow and also did well on their testing that in the interest of saving a couple of bucks didn't do the expensive hair test, rather sent out my urine sample (which with all the water and juice i drink i knew was clean).
2) maccujo did work: specifics, 6' tall 285lbs, active at work but still lethargic metabolism, brown hair -thin my whole life but all still there, kind of wirey
3)the paint stripper worked, i don't recommend this but if it works you do what you have to.
4) the promise i made to God that i wouldn't ever smoke again if i passed actually worked, just in case i 'm gonna honor that one plus this company still does drug testing , they call it random but i know people in the company who have been tested 2 times in a month after being with the company 20+ years so....
anyway i apologize for the length of this but i'm still in shock. this will probably be my last post unless i can help others so everyone out there be good and have fun but remember big brother is watching and doesn't care if you know it!! PEACE, POT, MICRODOT!! GIXXERBOY

When it was time for my hair test I knew that i had failed becuase of the time allowed to take the test. When are they gonna stop trying to win the battle, its already won by us.

Here was my original post:

I'll be much less anxious if I can get an infomed opinion about whether I will pass based on my facts:

1.) Took 1" - 11/2" of head hair from close to scalp taken from a single spot

2.) 116 days of no MJ usage (too bad)

3.) Hard exercise for past 90 days. 6'3", 250. Has this hurt my chances if it released THC trapped in my fat into my blood stream?

4.) High intake of of fluids. Does this matter?

5. Heat and sweat from frequent, long steam baths. Does this matter?

6. No hair detox treatments

7. Smoked 1/2 - 3/4 of a "J" 1-3Xs/mo for the 3-4 months prior to 116 days ago. Prior to this, ometimes smoked 4-5 times week for up to a month straight before an interval.

Should I pass or am I borderline? If you can advise me I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

RESULT: After 7 business days working (conditional on passing Pychemedics) I have not been told I failed so I assume I passed. I found the advice given me here that light usage is not what is being tested proved to be correct. This web site was invaluable to me during my period of uncertainty. Thanks again!

I really belive it has to do with how much you smoke. Yes it is said that it depends on how long ago you smoked, but im not to sure. I had smoked about two puffs off of a nice blunt and that was it, then a month and a half later i changed jobs and got a hair test, and i came out clean. My hair is about 6 inches long so they had enought to go back pretty far.

I passed (I guess I haven't heard anything and the test was 2 weeks ago, I also have worked for a week with no news)! I hadn't smoked much, BUT as a precaution I got a relaxer, I firmly believe that was why I passed rather than Macuj0 (I did that too). To all the AAs out there, do Macuj0 and relaxer or texturize your hair the day before--it changes the structure of the hair follice. Again it is my opinion and is NON SCIENTIFIC.

I'm an AAF and my hair is past shoulder length.

This really doesn't matter. The older hairs would be the ones closest to the scalp.
