Yep, read all of these, but to me seemed inconclusive because some sites (by testing facilities or those who are selling testing products) tend to state that they can detect THC at more minimal amounts, while those sites selling cleansing products tend to say you can get away with a bit more in your system, not to mention the age of some of this info.

I guess this is why I was looking toward this forum for peoples' actual experiences & results (for occassional user, but several sessions w/in 90 days, and with no opportunity to cleanse).

Thanks so much for responding, and I'll definitely post my result either way. I hope to know by Friday. I w/b calling HR w/a follow question, so I'm sure they'd mention if they rec'd negative result by then.

Hey everyone

I will be taking a hair test today, in exactly 12 hours for a very large corporation!!! I found out less than 24 hours ago that I would be taking the test, as I was just offered the job basically out of the blue and they wanted me to start almost (3 days from now) immediately. My backround is 5'9" male, white, 21 yr old, medium build, high metabolism, dark brown hair. I was smoking every single day for the past year or so, usually more than once a day, started to use a volcano towards the end of it because I kept getting a smokers cough. I slowed down towards the end of april and beginning of may, and have smoked a few times since. The last time I smoked was exactly 7 days ago.

These are the steps that I decided to take based on Info found in this f*cking amazing forum:
I got my hair cut in a fade, to about 1.5 or so inches on top. I did the Mac method that was mentioned in the forums. But I also took a few extra steps. After the mac method I had a friend pick up some supplies at our local beauty/salon supply store (Sally's Beauty Supply). I found some links in a forum on here from real research that bleaching hair decreases drug concentration by 60-80% and perming will decerease it by 20-40%. So I did just that. I got a home bleach kit, and left it in until my hair on top was basically white. Then I did the perm kit and only left that in for 5-8 minutes. None of this burned as bad as the Mac method by the way. After the bleach I used a high quality conditioner, and I did the same after the perm (left it in 5-10 min each time). The perm did not curl my hair at all. I then dyed my hair back to it's original color of dark brown, and conditioned again, leaving the conditioner in for about 15-20 minutes. I also did the Mac method on my armpits, and I trimmed my armpit hair a little too. I don't know if I'm going to extremes here, but I always say its better safe than sorry, and I really don't want to miss out on this job. I also purchased Biowash at a local headshop which I will use about an hour or so prior to going in for the test.

I was already told to attend orientation on monday and that I would be receiving my work assignment at that time, so hopefully I won't be losing this job shortly after starting. I'll be sure to post if anything goes wrong or as soon as I find out the results. I didn't notice too many posts of people on here that were very frequent users who had about a 2 week rest period, but also smoked during the rest period once or twice, and who had smoked only once 1 week prior to the test.

I thought that this decrease was way high. I believe that bleachingmay decrease THC metabolites in your hair, but not by 60-80%. If it did reduce it by that much just about everybody that took a hair test could beat it by bleaching and dying their hair.
If you look at the footnotes in that article for the information that I quote in this response. That decrease, according to the study is for opiates and not THC metabolites. Different drugs have different detection times and what works for opiates can't be compared to what works for THC metabolites. In fact in the article this quote is from, I don't see any mention of marijuana.

Good luck on your test and with your job. I wish all company would wait to hire people until after their drug test results were back and they know they pass. As I have said to a few others " I will be surprised if you pass. Come back with your results and surprise me."

so I just started my new job today, and it's F* cking great, I really Hope I dont lose it. I have kept searching for any verifiable evidence of getting through a hair test and I have found another journal that this time directly says cannabinoids are reduced when hair is bleached, permed, or dyed.
