Shaving your hair is not a bad idea. If want to isolate arm pits only or head only. Some testers take hair from all over the body, others do it wrong and take it from back of your head where hair is short.

Shaving your body allows you to figure out exactly how fast your hair grows and helps you estimate how many days it would take to get clean.

I shaved about 2 weeks ago and 70% of my body hair has regrown. I'm a real hairy guy and get frequent haircuts.

Shaving, trimming, or nairing, all have their place in controlling where your sample will be taken from. I've suggested this many times.

If a person has enough time prior to the test, a full body shave(after two weeks clean) is a good way to be 100% sure hair is clean after regrowth. Common sense dictates that this is not practical for most females, and many males.

Trimming your head hair to .5", and shaving the rest of your body, then walking into a collection center is a "bad idea". A person might slide on the .5" of hair, but there is a very good chance that the collector would just fail the testee outright.

 

JUSTONEQUESTION

I had cut back substantially in the past couple years. Approx. 20 years old. Smoked approx. once in March. Smoked again in late September and mid October. Had hair test approx the first of the year. I was not completely 90 days clean but I did pass. I had no treatments of any kind. The testers took hair from my armpit because the hair on my head was too short. So anyone that is in the same pickle I was, relax. If I could go back and not smoke to save myself the worry I would. I knew I was going to have a hair test, just not so soon. (by any means) I almost gave up the opportunity of a lifetime because of something that has given me nothing. For those of you who are looking at a career change that may hair test , please do not be an idiot and DO NOT smoke. It IS NOT worth it. O.k. my friends, so long and new life here I come.
P.S. Psychemedics did my hair and Qwest did my urine.

It sounds like you had one session in 90 days.

We would have told you that is below the cut off threshold.

Thanks to Jerry G, I passed my hair test!! I was a pretty frequent smoker (15 days per month). I last smoked on Jan. 5th and had to take the test on Jan 28th. I followed Jerry Gs instructions and bleached and redyed my leg hairs (bald guy) twice then used Zydot on the day of the test. I even took the Physcomedics test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!
