Just found out that I will be tested by hair for a job i was just offered. Im 5'7 160lbs with dark brown hair (basically black). I was told the test would be administered after my background check clears and that it should take close to 10 days. So I assume I have anywhere from 10-15 days before my test. For close to a year ive been smoking marijuana daily and in the past 30-50 days (including today) ive been smoking mainly hash at the rate of about 4 grams a week. Am i hopeless or do i have a shot with the majuco method as well as other detox products?

I PASSED!!! I'm still a little baffled, but here I go:

So today (trying to clear up some other pre-employment HR matters) I called my HR lady and asked if there was anything else I needed to do in order to start.....she continued to say:

"Well...let's look at your file. Looks like you passed your drug screen, your driving screen, and your background check. Yep..you are good to go!"

That moment is forever engraved in my head, and it would have never happened had I not gone to this wonderful site and soaked up as much information and encouragement as I could. Because of it I have this AMAZING job straight out of college, and I couldn't feel more grateful! I will definitly steer anyone who gets in a situation like this in this direction!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I had a feeling, since so much time had passed, that maybe I had passed...but actually hearing the words makes everything feel so much better.

Here is my history/story:

I am a 23 yr old female with medium-thick blond hair (naturally light brown, just happen to dye it)

I was clean 28 days prior to my test. Before that I had smoked approximately anywhere between 6-10 times of nothing crazy (except for a really strong brownie that I indulged in).

My method started a few days after I found out that it would be a hair test. I had approx. 21 days for treatments. I immediately searched the net and found this site and read and read and read for hours.

I intially started with the Mac method (which I only did about 3-4 times in the beginning..prob the first 7 days of treatment)....I then kept reading and figured that I would go with Jerry G's method of bleaching and redying. There was something about his method that seemed more secure than the Mac method. And although the Mac method has worked for some...I just started to get a bad feeling about it and decided I needed to do more, hence Jerry G's bleach/redye method.

My first bleach/redye was on the May 26th, 14 days before my test. I then gave my hair a break. My second and last bleach and redye was on June 6th, 3 days before my test. I did get a few scabs from the second session, but it has been well worth it and my scalp healed quickly.

The other method I did was my daily shower routine. I would wash with PM3 and T/Sal (I would mix some pure Tea tree oil in with this shampoo..it can be found at a whole foods, and I thought it would help to clean my hair). Then every once in a while I would wash with a swimmer's conditioner, which I found at Sally's Beauty Supply.

The night before the test I washed with some off brand cleanser shampoo (it was called Ace Cleanse Shampoo) that I found at a head shop, and then I did Zydot on the day of the test (which was preceeded by a Ion Crystal Clarifying packet treatment to help open up my hair shaft prior to using the Zydot) and went. She cut a chunk out of the lower middle part of my head and sent it off to Quest.


Phew! Sorry that was so long, I was just trying to be as detailed as I could. Hopefully someone with my background can gain a little confidence and help, because I now know that passing a hair test IS possible!!!

I haven't smoked regularly in about a year. I did smoke a few times and had a brownie or two during a weekend about 30 days ago. I have a hair test coming up in 2-4 weeks. My hair is already pretty short right now (less than one inch).

Do I have reason to be concerned and try any of the cleansing methods?

I will post my results after the test.

Here’s the specs: (very long entry but hopefully this will help someone else pass)
-female, 26, moderately active, slow metabolism, w/long, very thick dark brown hair
-Clean for approx. 35 days
-mod/heavy smoker 2+ months prior, mid/high grade
-have been prescribed to adderall since I was 10 so my hair was def unclean (but none of HR’s business what scripts I get), also had a couple other OT pills in system though
-Had been tanning for about 7months prior to finding out about test; while researching i saw a couple mentions about UV rays helping the thc metabolites break down faster, so I started doing the upgrade beds every other day. Also quit exercising 2wks prior to test, not entirely sure what kind of merit that has but saw it mentioned before too

I had originally planned on doing Jerry G’s bleach method because to be honest it was the only thing that I thought would be successful. but bc of various circumstances, that method wasn’t going to work out for me. So I did a relaxer. I already had supplies for the Mac, so went out to the headshops & sallys and bought:
-Omni Shampoo and Zydot (couldn’t find the TW)
-Ion Swimmers Shampoo and Conditioner
-Ion Reconstructive Treatment
-Ion Clarifying Treatment (packets that form a gel, I used about 3packets each time I did it bc my hair is so thick), also got an applicator bottle and new combs/brushes
-Super strength no-lye relaxer (purple box, Soft-Sheen brand)

-I only did the mac method once. I put the reconstructor treatment on right after and left it on overnight. i think baking soda instead of vinegar might be more effective if you do the Mac. I washed my hair twice a day, once with the swimmer shampoo and once with T/Sal. I also used the Clarifying gel a lot (and ALWAYS used a blowdryer while it set) followed by the reconstructor 3 times.
-I used the relaxer 6 days before the test. I had a friend apply it for me- and yes, it stung like a beast-no pain, no gain. Before we put the neutralizer on I washed with the Omni for 15min. The relaxer WILL fry your hair, if you do it I def would pick up keratin/protein treatments from sallys to help with breakage.
-The night before the test I used the gel + Omni. Morning of I did baking soda paste for 10min, then the zydot.
-I took the test at a Concentra clinic and they used the Psychemedics lab. I wore my hair half way up bc we focused the relaxer on the underneath sides, crown and nape. I was worried the girl would ask me to take my hair down but she didn’t. She cut my hair about an inch to left of the center of the back of my head, right under the clip where I had pulled my hair back. I took the test Wednesday morning and HR had the results Friday afternoon and I start work in a week!

Wow after a long two weeks of freaking out about this damn hair test I found out today that I passed and am an official employee of my new company!! I am a light hair female, shoulder length hair, daily smoker for years. Clean for about three weeks. Live in high humdity area. So for all of you that need to pass here is what I did:

One week prior to test: a hair relaxer (motions brand), razor hair wash (bought online)
Majco method 3 times followed each time by T-sal for 30 minutes, baking soda for 30 minutes and aloe rid shampoo. I took a hair confirm home test after all this (the day of the home test also used Zydot). Passed the home test!

Week of real test: Monday: Relaxer, Majco method followed by baking soda and tsal.

Tuesday-test day!- Majco method followed by baking soda and tsal. Razor hair wash treatment, Zydot.

Tip: for the sake of your ears buy the ear covers at sally's I wish I had used them since day one as my ears felt like they were going to burn off!

Tip: For the girls out there that cant bleach or dye your hair I think the relaxer damages just as good.

Took the test on found out I PASSED

Hello everyone,

Here is my story. smoked several blunts of some killer and was clean for approximately 55 days. I have thick dirty blond hair and was worried to death that I would not pass for employment. I took a look on the post here and choose to go with the bleach and redye method.

I was using a mixture of bleach, hydrogen peroxide and neutragenia T-Gel for about 1 week. Didn't leave in long at all (maybe 2 minutes). I really think that the next step is what made me pass.

My hair is 2 inches long and used a 40% volumizer with a number 5 bleach for only 15 minutes. Then I redyed. Then the next day I used another application of 40% volumizer with a number 5 bleach for another 15 minutes. Then redye my hair twice to make it look somewhat normal. This was all done within a 3 day period. Then the day of the test I did the zydot treatment.

If I was do it again, I would have left the bleach and 40% volumizer longer. Proble for 45 minutes to make it work for sure. Anyways, I truley recomend using the bleach and redye method followed by a treatment of zydots. Good luck every one and thanks again for all the help!!!!!!

My last toke was a big one on May 12. I smoked like a feakin chimney up until that point. Everyday 2 to 3 times a day for the last two years. Basically if you smoked my hair you probably could get high with all the weed in it. I knew I would have to take a hair test for a dream job at a casino in vegas.

So I abstaned and my last toke was June 12 and I took my test on June 24 thats about 43 days clean time with one hair cut in that time. I get a #2 around the sides and the back and a trim off the top usually leaving about a little over an inch. I'am of asian decent with thick black hair. 5'9 220lbs with a very low metabolisim. All I do all day is play HALO 3 and Call of Duty 4. Not to mention very good looking but I digress.

I did nothing to really prepare except take some liquid detox from a head shop about 3 weeks into my sobreity. I figured it would help in stopping anymore toxins from entering my hair.

The day of the test I performed a quick "macujo" which was not really to the exact specifications. keep in mind this was just 5 hrs till the test.

For the Macujo method I used, Clean and Clear deep cleaner with micro scrubers, white vinegar and substituted tide with "all" liquid detergent. Mixed the vinegar with the clean and clear for about 15 minutes(did not burn at all) then washed with "all".

Then I used a Baking soda paste. I didn't feel like buying any from the store cause im pretty damn lazy so I used the box of "Arm & Hammer" from the fridge with the vents on the sides of the box. It was about a month old. Took some of that and mixed with water and let set in my hair for about 20 minutes.

Right after that I used a detox shampoo that I got from a head shop called "All Clear" it had a seperate shampoo and hair gel. Followed directions exactly. Then I used some left over conditioner from a box of hair dye. That shit left my hair nice and soft .

I went and took the Psychemedics test a couple hours later. I really hoped I would pass especially with all the clean time. I took the test on the 24th and havent heard a thing from Psychemedics for about 7 days, 5 working days. 3 months is what the lady said that took my hair. yeah right, 3 months my hairy butt.

Well thanks to everyone on this sight for coming together and helping each other out. I went the lazy route with the cleaning but I think the clean time was the key factor in all of this. Everyone who reads this post, do your fellow smoker a favor and post your results. Your not just helping a person that does an "wrongfully" illegal drug, your helping some of the most normal people. Fathers, wives, mothers, single people like me that just like to relax and smoke after work, but mostly people struggleing to get that dream job to make a better life for their kids and family. Everyone who posts just wants to get that job they've always wanted and their going to extreme measures to get it. I commend all of you that say F* you to the "MAN". Do what they say couldnt be done and pass that dreaded Hair test. I did

Used Nexxus Aloe Rid Shampoo (Old UPC) the entire time. Who knows if this did anything.
