OK Passed my test....Thank you to everyone!! Now for my info

Failed a urine test after being clean 49 days ( I really think this was a false positive )

They decidedto give me a hair test....when I took it I was 62 days clean.

I was a heavy smoker for years, I am overweight with a slow metabolism. I am white and hair fine brown hair.

-I used Aloe Rid a few times and then switched to the swimmers shampoo.
-The day before the test I did a baking soda treatment and then used swimmers shampoo.
-Same day washed hair a few times with swimmers shampoo
-That afternoon went to a hair place and had my hair bleached and then redyed.
-Morning of the test got my hair cut (had it cut three times in 60 days, my hair grows fast I think) The hair was 3/4" the day of the test.
-The morning of I made sure all body hair was trimmed using #3 and #4 clipper....everything was trimmed!
-I washed my hair with swimmers shampoo again and then used a Zydot treatment.
-They took hair from 4 places on the back of my head by the crown.
-Results came very quick! Took test wednesday the 2nd had the resuts on Monday the 7th even with the holiday
-The lab was quest

Again I passed!! They want me in today for the night shift to catch up on training!

Long time lurker, just wanted to post my results to contribute to the wonderful site and the wealth of information; thanks to all.

Stats:
White Male, 24yo,170lbs, thick dark hair, average metabolism.
21 days clean on test day
It took me about 3 months to go through a quarter of KB. A few rips before bed almost daily.

After reading and comparing this is what I did; not so much because it was a formulated plan, but more or less its just what ended up happening. I decided to go the redye route.

TMinus 7 days: Bleached with a 40 vol developer. While my hair was nice and stripped (and I assume the cuticle was open) I decided to do a 25 min Clean and Clear soak followed by a tide soak. Redyed with clairol perfect 10.

Let the scalp rest for a few days. Night before the test I bleached again. Went to bed. Woke up test day and did a redyed followed by a full Zydot treatment.

Notes: I'm an idot and the first time I bleached I just kind of glopped it on my dome. Not smart, it really f'ed up my scalp. Dont be an idiot, have someone help you, or if your solo, comb it through your hair. Probably self explainitory, but hey, I'd never done it before. Also, the redye looks like shit. Its all rusty and such. I'd say if you do multiple redyes get the last one done professionally.

Variables: These are things I thought of that may or may not make a difference, I'm not a scientist, but i thought I'd share.

I was on Accutane. Apparently it shrinks the sebatious glands to that of an infants. After I went on it my hair dried out, and I guess one of the rare side effects is hair falling out. My thought is that maybe it affected the flow of chemicals (not just reefer) into my hair?

I also found out that what I style my hair with daily (Crew Fiber) is loaded with PG, EDTA, and a bunch of other good stuff I found on this list. I read the ingredients and it was literally like a list of all the stuff I've read about here. My hair basically soaks in it for 16 hours a day for the last 5 years, so maybe that had a little something to do with it.

Anway, happy and employed at my new job. I just hope I dont have to do that shit again...ever. Best of luck to you all and thanks to all the mods and the people with good info here. If it wasnt for this site I'd of probably just washed my hair 50 times and would be out of a job.

Ultra Clear does not work! I used it twice the day of the test and didnt get the job. My stash is gone and I am resigned to quiting until this freaking society wakes up. Damn!

Sorry to hear that. From everything I have read a single treatment with one kind of product will NOT help. You need to do other treatments with your ultra clean.

today is sunday and i'll be getting my hair test results this week. i'm very anxious and nervous. this totally sucks.

female
96 lbs
dark brown hair
long hair (few inches past shoulders)

1 month clean
before that, smoke 2-3 times/week

i wish i had done more, but here's what i did do:

last sunday (3 days til test day):
-baking soda paste in hair for 10 mins (whole arm & hammer box, i have really long hair), rinsed
-mixture of aloe shampoo and clorox bleach (ratio about 1 cup to 1 tablespoon) for 5 mins, rinsed
-repeated step 2 two more times
-baking soda paste in hair for 10 mins, rinsed
-washed with liquid tide w/ colorsafe bleach for 15 mins, rinsed
-conditioner, rinsed

monday and tuesday i did nothing

wednesday (day of test):
-did everything i did on sunday, except after rinsing the tide out, i did:
-baking soda paste in hair for 10 mins, rinsed
-half bottle of toxin wash for 15 mins, rinse
-other half of bottle for 15 mins, rinse
-conditioner, rinse

notes:
-hopefully the basic baking soda opened my hair up, idk the terminology
-the aloe and clorox thing i got from a method calling for mixing clorox, hydrogen peroxide, and aloe shampoo. but someone said bleach+peroxide=water, so i mixed them beforehand, it bubbled and fizzed a lot and the yellowish clorox turned clear, and it did look like water and even smelled like water. i wasn't about to taste it though! :P so i left out the peroxide.
-when i ordered toxin wash i didn't know that long hair calls for TWO bottles because you're supposed to do 4 treatments, and i ordered one. so i only did half the recommended amount of toxin wash.

i strongly welcome any comments or suggestions on my method so that maybe it can help someone reading this. i'll definitely post asap when i get my results which will hopefully be soon cuz i'm going craaaazy!

I bought their test in kit the high end one and failed miserably. They are a bunch of lying bastards.

I got hair tested at Quest. They took 120 strands from the back of my head.

because vinegar is an acid, and baking soda is a base, and i read that it's better to use a base first. i just took what i thought would work best from a couple of methods (idavisa and macujo), used baking soda instead of vinegar, and added toxin wash cuz i had it so i figured i'd use it too. i do regret not doing a bleach and redye at least once because i really felt i was pushing it doing so little, but i quite simply did not have the funds. i'm only 19 trying to live on my own and i'm as broke as they come. but now i have a job at a casino in vegas! because, yes! i passed! so i thank this forum very much, and kudos to jerry g for helping so many people with comments, questions, and advice. i know people in this situation are trying to learn as much as possible and he really gives great input. and GOOD LUCK to everybody!

I did the same thing for the method I used. I took the common ingredients of passing results and used them. I am a light smoker and was 28 days clean and passed.

Used vinegar, PM3, Aloe Rid Clarifying Treatment.
