Hi yall,

I've been reading for quite some time, but now I have a question I have not seen addressed, so I figured I'd pop the question: In order to get around a hair test, can one simply (?) shave every scrap of hair off of one's body and leave just the tiniest amount (say 1/8" or less) on the head, and simply be told that there is not enough hair to perform the sample? Do they have to give you a different type of test (ie urine) before they can fire you? My situation - I just started (maybe 3 weeks ago) at a major strip resort in Las Vegas. As in nearly every casino, they require a Psychemedics Hair Follicle test as part of their employment process. I don't know when I will be taking the test, but it could be any time. Now, I'm a heavy user (just pot) and I can't risk this drug test coming back positive. So, going off of what I was told by an acqaintence who had gone through a similar experience, I decided that rather than risk the thc showing up, it would be better to destroy the evidence by using a pair of electric clippers and trimming all of my body hair (and I do mean all of it) down to less than 1/16th of an inch. The only hair left on me whatsoever is on my head. Now, when I first was introduced to the job, my hair was already cut quite short, less than 1/4". Since then I've been keeping it trimmed to around 1/8". Now, when I go to get my hair test, I'm not sure what will happen. I know that they require at least an inch, but what if they cannot collect a sample? I can pass a urine test with no problem - provide a clean sample from a wise and sober friend. I just wondered if anyone had similar experience? Any help would be appreciated.

My advice is this .. Do Macujo. They can take haif from other parts too. they only took 1/2 inch from the back of my head. I did read somewheere that they could also use your naills. Stop smoking , clean youself up as much as poss.

Any competent HR department would see through your “oops I got no body hair” scam in a second. They would consider it the same as failing the test, and be the end of you as a potential employee.

That said, your company’s hair testing requirement is a complete JOKE, so who knows what you can get away with. Maybe you can just slip through the cracks completely, and the morons you work for will never even ask you to take the test? It’s unbelievable that companies will go through the time and expense of hiring and training people, only to fire them later for failing what’s supposed to be a pre-employment test.

Note that if you do shave your entire body, don't forget your eyebrows and eyelashes. I think they can collect hair samples from there as well. I have also heard the nail clippings thing as well. By whay I've read on the internet, the backup to the hair test is giving you a urine test.

Yes! Be sure you shave your eyebrows and your eyelashes too so you show up at the lab looking like Uncle Fester! Yer gonna do fine!
