Ok, heres my problem. I am on a pill called accutane, and I have to have a blood test once a month to check for highered colesterol levels and highered liver toxins. My next blood test will be about 6 days after the last time I smoked bud. I havn't smoked for a couple months up til this month, because I didn't want to get caught with the blood test. I am wondering if when they do the test will they see the weed, even though they are testing for the other things? please help.

Note: I don't want any answers from anyone that have no idea, and are just guessing straight out. That won't help much because I can guess myself. I need someone who atleast knows a little about it. thanks.

If you are just getting a liver scan (albumin, proteins, toxins, etc) and a check of your LDL/HDL you should have nothing to fear. Of course if you are a minor and your parent is concerned about possible drug use, they can request your doctor draw blood to test for dtrug use at the same time.

I just want to say thanks. And it does sound like you know what your talking about, with the words you used. But no, my parents don't suspect anything. But anyway thanks.Oh by the way LDL/HDL means the colesterol part right?

Yeah, I'll let everyone know how the blood test goes. Then it might help other people in similar situations. Everyone wish me luck please.

Well I took the blood test today, I have no clue if I passed or not. But one thing is on my side, the lab is in the docs office, so they usually have the results very soon. And I was practically the first patient in, seriously!! So it's possible they have the results today. And if they do then I'm ok, cause they would have called if it was bad. But can't be sure until they send me the paper in the mail saying everythings normal. Should be here by Tuesday or so. So I'll let you know.

I got the paper with the blood test results today. It says everything is OK. So I guess they can't see bud when they test your liver and colesterol.

YES!!!! Good news for me, I was informed that I was to start taking acutane next week. I started freaking out about the blood tests too. Thanks for clearing everything up.

Hey, did the accutane work pretty well? 'Cause I think i'm going to start going on it pretty soon and I hear it has some wicked side effects, but if it works as well as it's supposed to, it's worth it.
