Be sure you clean your mouth well every day. Also have mints handy, just in case.
Be sure you wear your mesh glove too!
That's when handling a knive, when on the saw just be careful. Don't smoke before work either.

Do yourself a favor and keep this between you and whoever you trust, in your department, in your store. They look to reduce payroll at times and if you don't preform, they'll test you.
They will let you know with a written warning notice. That you might have to sign. So Don't. Print Your Name on any warning notice. Then it's technically not a signature, By Law.
Even though you print your name, they will test you. If you go out at lunch and smoke, stop it now. I've fired 2 Journeyman because of it. It was a while back, in the 90's, but that is still the rule. Don't party with your second man, or manager, they are tight, unless you did before the warning was issued.
If they test you and you are positive, you will not get workers comp. Be smart, wait till after work. Try and not count on it, because they will make an example out of the first one caught!
Get it Right!!!!!!
Meat Cutters' are not needed as much as in the past. Pre-Cuts' along with Pre-Packaged and pre-priced Chicken are laying off meat cutters all the time. It's a Trade that's not in need in today's world.
Like shoemakers, barbers', and other trades'. Welders', Auto Mechanics', ect.

They all drug test. At least you were warned. If you are union, go to a union meeting and question it. Ask your BA (bussiness agent). The unions' are not as strong in trhe retail bussiness as in the past.

I have 22 years in the union, I'll tell you right now, DO NOT COUNT ON THE UNION TO SAVE YOU! Can you dig it? Life has lessons, Learn from this one, PLEASE!!!!!!

Become a Manger and you'll always have a job.

Question MamaBudz

Did I Put This Into Words Right???
I love my Job and enjoy working in the food industry, but I think I'll open my own shop again. I want to have the freedom of answering questions without being told that I cover up for the crew. They busted my Onions on overtime, and I don't want it. So I can just go to Cabo San Lucas, Come Back, and get prepared for Turkey Time.
I Could Also Leave and Open a Gourmet Market, In Melrose Park, IL. I found a site.

Be sure to follow all safety procedures all the time -- even if it slows down the work process.

Unfortuneately, accidents do happen, which is why W.C. exists. But if the company can find that you were "negligent" THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY. Regrettably, marijuana can show up in your system for up to 30 days after you have used it, depsite the fact that inebriation would only last an hour or so, so it is possible to be injured, test positive but ot have the injury caused by being stoned. You would still be out of luck and have to fight the case with an attorney -- and would still be an uphill battle while you are out of work, and without funds to adequately provide for your legal battle. It's a lose/lose situation

,

For your own information about Saliva tests, look through the Testing Forum on Saliva tests and learn everything you can.

But for the most part, follow GrillMeat's advice and of course Practice Safety at Work at all times.

Good luck and stay safe.

Hugz,

Mama Budz

Either there or Cabo, I want it bad, let's hope I convince the fiance' that that would be the thing to do.
I already postponed the wedding 2 more years, because she don't like my new house and wants a bigger one.
I really want to stay here, open a market, and purchase a getaway spot.
She doesn't like my ideas, and I want to be with her too!
Life is so confusing at times.
