I'm not sure when I will be takin the test, but I have been tokin for 29 years. Toke on a daily basis but only a little at night to relax. I am not an active person and about 30 pounds overweight. I will be having to take a blood test to adopt a little boy who has been abused and needs a good stable home.

I have seen so many web sites and I have read these threads and still getting mixed info. I need help to know how long will it stay in my bloodstream? What do I do to get rid of it?

Please help!

I had read this and also I have read just about all of the threads on here. I am sorry but I don't know how to attach another thread to this, but a thread on page 11 by smokinmama had takin a test after 46 days of no smoke and failed. That's why I am so confused. I have quit smokin, but I know I will have to take this test within the next two months or less. I am to the point that I just might go to the doctor after a week of no smoke and take a test just to see.

I hate to be a bother, but I am just so damn confused.

I can't find the post to which you refer but I suspect she's talking about a urine test, not a blood test. Can you check that out and post back here?

[EDIT] I found the post and it is about a blood test. That's weird! My guess is that it was an immunoassay test and it came up with a false positive or the test itself was defective. Immunoassay tests are only 99% accurate.

Do you know the percentage of test inaccuracy? By any chance do you know what kind of blood test the state of Texas or Utah would request to do for an adoption case? I was suprised to find out that they were even going to do a drug test for this. As I'm sure you know, just because we like to toke does not mean that we would be irresponsible to raising a child. I'm sure there is alot of us that are responsible tokers.

I just don't want to fail this test. This is like a dream come true for a child to come in my life. It's NOT a dream come true to stop tokin.

I am not saying that you are wrong or trying to challenge you but where did you get this information? And do you know anyone who has actually passed a test that has stopped smoking for only a few days? I am just very concerned after I read the one about 46 days and failed.

By the way I have read alot of your postings and just to say I think you seem to be a pretty cool guy.
