back in late April i took a few hits and now i have a hair test coming up in the next week. also back in feb. of this year i smoked a great deal over a 3 or 4 day period. i have very long hair and i am worried either the april smoke or the feb smoke will show up.

should i be worried?

They use the 1.5 inches of hair closest to your skin. This is, for most people, about 3 months growth. Due to the deterioration of the chemicals they can't test accurately beyond 3 months.

I've always wondered;

would completely shaving your head (ie. 'biccing') somehow dodge the test? Or would they go after your eyebrows too?

They would take axillary, pubic, chest, arm, or leg hair. If you depilated your whole body they'd assume you were some kind of freak and not hire you anyway.

If you haven't smoked in that long of a period you should be just fine. The test usually only goes back 90 days because the chemicals in your hair deteriorates quickly after that. It is possible to go back longer but then the test gets more expensive for them so they most likely will not do that and the test becomes less accurate. Find out! Shaving your head isn't really needed as they will look elsewhere to take it. Body does not grow as fast as head hair so having them take it from other locations on your body would make it easier to detect past usage. If you are still worried I would buy Aloe Rid Deep Clarifying treatment, not the shampoo. Use it several times before the test and ease your worrying. It's about $12.00 a bottle. Getting a trim/haircut will help as well but you may not even need that! Your head hair will be clean so let them take it from there. It's their first choice. They take the hair closest to your scalp and usually in the back of your head as not to make you look silly after leaving. They do this to detect the most recent usage.

thanks for the responses. so does even a hit or 2 show up in hair? i had read that within the 90 day window you would have needed to smoke a fair share for it to even show up.
