Well today was the day. They took my hair and you can clearly see the mark of the beast (psychmedics) on the back of my head. I want to give back as much as possible and not be like the people who come here stressing out and glean all this useful information and then just post an "I passed! later! I dont need you anymore" without saying what they did. So, I guess I will start from the beginning. First things first, quit if you are going to have a test! But if you are reading this then you are scared, unprepared, and worried that you will fail. Kind of like preaching to the choir. Next, I would try to increase your chances as much as possible. There are a number of ways you can do this. I was pretty good about quitting for 2 weeks and then i had a few relapses when i smoked a few little tiny bongers and I mean like .05g tiny (my mini-bong is sweet) so there was that and then a friday before which turned out to be 10 days before my test. #1 So, look back at your calender and see when your "clean days" and when your "not clean days" are and form the FAQ it says that the corboxy metabolite floats around in your blood for 2-3 days and then 7-10 days for the affected hair to grow above your scalp. Figure out what you would need to cut your hair and how close to be clean. They cant test whats not there! i.e. If you have been clean for three weeks then look at the FAQ and figure out what size cutter you would need to get that approximate length. Mine was cutting it close so to speak. #2 Force the "battle of the hair sample" to your head by shaving your body. Do not feel worried at all about being grilled about not having hair (if your a male)...any number of reasons should work from: body hair is gross, my wife/gf doesnt like body hair, or I am gay and dont like body hair etc. (IMHO if you are ballsy enough to say your gay and dont like body hair nobody should question you) #3 The macuju method: this was pretty interesting. At first my scalp didnt hurt but after a few times over a couple days whenever i put it under hot water I could feel some discomfort and on the day of i just couldnt bring myself to do it because it hurt so bad. I have no idea how people can let it sit for so long. VERY IMPORTANT: Wear goggles, and use vaseline around your exposed skin. My neck, forehead, and face fared far worse than my scalp did. Use of spray bottles really really does help. And also, moisterize, moisterize, moisterize, Tres Semme moisterizing conditioner works awesome! #4 Paul Mitchell 3, Nexxus Aloe Rid, Biogenol clarifying treatment: The day before and the day of I dont think I washed each one no less than 20 times. Each time i scrubbed and then let it soak in then rinsed. VERY IMPORTANT: WEAR GOGGLES!!! The PM3 got into my eye and actually started to break down my eye tissue causing severe pain and discomfort I had to go to the eye doctor. My eye was very sensitive to sunlight for 3 days, I could not drive and was in pain those three days. #5 I liked the idea of using a shower cap and putting hot towels around your head to open up the cuticle. I did this for most of my mucujos and some of the times I washed with the various shampoos. They all got the hot towel treatment. #6 All Clear, Root Clean or whatever you want to call it: I guess it used to be Root Clean but now it is All Clear. From the All Clear website, if their product does what it is suppose to, I think they are on the right track. I do not think that you can just go in and extract parts of the hair strand that are impurities. Something like the THC-CARBOXY metabolite seems to me that it would be part of the hair and not an attached impurity that would not be part of the actual hair growth. And so I think their method of going into the hair and sealing the impurities to the hair so that they do not become seperated from the hair in the testing process seems most plausible to me. just my $.02. Day of the test I washed with PM3 and aloe rid clarifying shampoo and treatment and the last thing I put in my hair was the All Clear treatment. I had previously thought it would be a urine test until I found out that it would be a hair test and had no idea they could test your hair. Where I took the test was an Urgent Care clinic and the test was administered by some low-level tech. She was actually teaching a new person how to administer the test. And she was showing her (and me) where they should take the hair. It would be your hat line or whatever and above. And how much..blah blah blah. My hair was short and so she took quite a bit and showed me the tinfoil that had my hair in it. I signed off on it and was done. 10 minutes. I was even wearing a big hoodie sweatshirt and pants. The thing was, was that she commented on how short my hair was but did not even ask me for another location to take the hair from. I told her to go gentle on my scalp and she cut close but not THAT CLOSE, there is clearly still hair, I say she missed about a weeks worth of growth which is excellent for me! With all the horror stories of being grilled by doctors my experience was actually pleasant. I guess it really boils down to who is administering the test. Lastly, I think that besides the mucuju and what not, I considered getting my hair bleached which is sure to kill your hair and then having it died back. I got alot of conflicting comments from hairdressers but I asked someone I trust and he said it would be OK and probably the most surefire way to kill your hair without actually destroying it. Another thing, maybe not bleaching but coloring or dying your hair would be good too I think. It kind of goes along the same lines as the All Clear where your hair is basically sealed and everything on the inside of the seal stays in. But, I am no hair professional and I did not do it so its more or less just something to think about. That is all for now....5 days of agony until I find out

Kingsblend, Thanks for the detailed post. I'm curious as to why you, and so many others, are interested in affecting the scalp (opening the pores ect...)? It seems to me unless the person taking the sample is willing to cut you, any hair they are going to be able to collect will be at least a week old. If keratin is insoluble in water (water-proof), and resistant to most proteolytic enzymes, do you really think washing with any shampoo will have any effect on anything below the cuticle? Do you suppose the heat would have a greater benefit in decarboxylixation of the THC metabolite (Isn't that what occurs when MJ is dried and cured: THC-COOH to THC) rather than causing protein (keratin) deformation? I put a pretty detailed post at the end of the macujo thread and would enjoy hearing your thoughts... Thanks and good luck!

Well still no word yet, it has been almost a week. WTF is the DEAL!!! I am tripping balls. JUST TELL ME ALREADY!!!!! I wanted to post the ingredients of All Clear Shampoo. Maybe somebody can do googles on the ingredients or do a table against the PM3 and Nexus products to compare. Shampoo Ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Laurel Sulfate, Cocamide, MEA, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Citric Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone. Hair Gel Ingredients: Water, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate, Crosspolymer, Triethanolamine, Potassium Sorbate, Methylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamine E Acetate), DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbonate There are some hardcore words in there, all of which I have no idea what they are or what they do. I think that the All Clear really did a number on my skin. I do not think it was the mucuju because it would have happened before or maybe it was a combination of both. But I was IN PAIN the day after my test. My skin was basically destroyed all on the back of my neck. It was so dry that I could not turn my head without thinking that it was bleeding. Word to the wise...protect yourself.

I have heard that it could take up to two weeks or longer to get your results back. Just be patient. You know they say sometimes no news is good news. Think positive. I hope you passed. ![]()

So i called my potential employer to find out what the deal is. They said that they didnt know and there seems to be a confusion with my sample. I asked what was going on and she (my boss) says that they are not sure about if they have lost my sample or got it confused with another one. Oh how sweet it would be to have my sample confused with a clean one and for me to get the greenlight (sucks for the other person but whatever). Apparently they just hired on another person as well and she had similar problems with psychmedics and her sample: they lost her sample. WTF? With so much uncertainty going on with them not being able to keep their samples straight whos to say if they are even accurate anymore? I mean how can you even trust anything they say? There is no way to guarantee anything from them at this point with them dropping the ball so much. hopefully this will change my prospective employers mind on drug testing or at least hair testing. but they are a big corporation and I dont think that will happen out of good nature. But hey if they keep having to pay for re-tests something will happen. I am certainly going to raise holy hell if the test comes back positive.

Sounds like you could have good reason to. Are you ready to retest if necessary? I would get ready if I were you. It was a good thing that you called and got heads up that you may have to retest. If the company decides to change anything with the testing they would probably just change testing facilities.

| That is a good idea... I have been sitting on my heels waiting for a response as to whether I will need to or not. I think you are right because I would hate to scramble at the last minute to pull something off. I am going to figure something out. Thanks for reminding me that I should do that!!!! | I read in your other post that they found your sample and you failed. That sucks big time. You will surely find something else and who knows it may be a better job. Hopefully things will go better for you next time. I wish you lots of luck in your job search. ![]() |
