Okay hello everyone I am dire need of some help here. I attend and school were there is random drug screenings, and today i was chosen to participatet in this wonderful event (haha thats a joke) well the question is do any of you think i might have a chance to pass the saliva test if......I didnt smoke for 2 full days then smoked once last night and a very small amount this morning, but at the test i dried out my mouth and bite the swab and never let the swab hit my gums. The real kicker to this story is i am about to graduate in 3 weeks but if i fail this test i will have to retake this class for anther 3 weeks. Some one please give me some good news!!!!

Well, it's not good that you smoked before the test, but you may have a chance if you kept the swab dry. Usually, if it's too dry, it's ruled out on the spot, so it's good that you haven't heard anything yet.

Do yourself a favor and stop smoking now. Brush, floss, and gargle really well in the morning, just in case they decide to re-test you. Don't start smoking again until you hear the results.

This is what I would do if I had to take a Saliva test.
1) Stay away from MJ for at least 24 to 48 hours. 72 hours is the best.
2) The day of the test you should clean your mouth big time, brush, gargle, and floss.
3) You should take Altoid Mints up to test time. They might ask you about mint intake, say "NO".
4) Wait to get the notice from your new employer on start time.
5) If they fail to call within 7 days, call them.

I smoked the day before I had a saliva test.
Just brushed my teath and rinsed my mouth out and went in and passed my saiva test. I hear they only go back 12 hours. Just don't smoke before you go in and you should be OK.

Could you please give us the specifics as far as approximately how many hours before, how much and whether you are a heavy smoker or not? The more detailed the better. And thank you for posting !! Much appreciated !

How many days before the 9-3 was the last time? It takes about 90 days if you smoke alot.

OK:

I smoked ever day. High grade marijuana. Heavily. All day.
I had my test at 2:00 PM on a tuesday. On monday I smoked all day long (as always), and all night up until about 12:00 AM. Usually I keep smoking past 12 until I fall asleep but quit early because I knew I had the test. When I got up in the morning/afternoon (12:00 PM) I brushed my teath and used ACT plus freshening (mouthwash, no alcohol in it), it is made by Johnson & Johnson. Ate lunch (don't remember what I ate) and then went to the interview at 2:00 PM. Sat sown did the interview, bit the saliva test as was instructed. Went home and smoked out. Then they called me later and said I passed. Easyest drug test to pass I have ever had to pass.

I actually recieved a E-mail from NORML (as I am on their mailing list) that said saliva tests are not sensitive to marijuana. I think I saw the same kind of information poasted on these boards too somewhere. I'll see if I can find it and poast it up.
