You really should not have buzzed your hair only 2-3 weeks before the test. (of course it depends on how short the buzz cut is). You are a typical case of going overboard. You probably would have been fine with no treatment whatsoever and allowing any hair on your body to be tested. You even said yourself that you were pretty close to 90 days clean.

Don't shave everything and go into a testing facility with no body hair and very short head hair. This could be construed as a refusal to test. Especially if the employer has notified you that you will be taking a hair test in the near future. If you don't have enough hair, they cannot take a sample. Remember, they need AT LEAST 1/2 inch of hair on your head to use as a specimen. Some places won't touch anything less than one full inch.
For a pre-employment test, you cannot just ask, and be granted a "retest". The employer already has results saying you fail, why on earth would they grant you a retest and incur additional expenses? Hair testing is expensive and employers won't just give you another when you fail the first one.

Why on earth would you ask this forum if you would pass, receive encouraging replies to your questions, then do something radical and risky like shave off all your hair and not leave enough on your head? Just stop and think awhile without doing anything but digesting what has been told to you. You will pass due to the length of time it has been since you last smoked however you might not get the opportunity to take the test because you are planning to remove all your hair. Think about it.

i am in the same boat.. i haven't smoked for 150 days and then last time before that was another 120 days.. i have a hair test coming up, and i am freaking out... eventhough the stats say i should pass i am still very scared.. i am paranoied maybe my hair doesnt' grow as fast or something.. i don't know.. i am scared they would take my body hair.. but i'll make sure i keep an inch and half on my head before i got there (will this gurantee hair to be taken from my head and not my body??).. i need some assurance.. this is an engineering job.. and i am actually still in school and have my exams this week, so i can't be stressed like over a drug test.. i need to concentrate for my exams

Paranoiatest, relax. If you have not smoked but one time in the last 270 days, you will pass. If you keep an inch and a half of hair length on your head, that is where they should take the specimen from. You do not have more than at most 100-110 days of history contained in that inch and a half of hair. There is no way they could detect MJ use prior to that.

Concentrate on your finals, and quit stressing over something that:

1. you have no control over, and
2. you have no need to stress over in the first place.

You are an engineering student right. I realize that there is a lot of math involved with engineering. Here is a problem for you.

If the average person's hair grows at a rate of 1/2" per month, and that person has 1-1/2" of hair on the head, how many days total can they detect THC from the hair on the head? Take that answer and subtract it from the amount of days since you last smoked. The result is how much insurance you have of passing the test.

Read sec3's answer...Read the answers in your other post. THEN do yourself a favor and DON'T read any more about hair testing until AFTER you get your PASSING results. YOU ARE DRIVING YOURSELF INSANE!!

Okay, I found out that I will be tested on May 16 at 1:00pm. I have very short hair right now and I think by the time I will get the test, I will have 1/2 inch on my head. Do you think they will be questioning to test me or not?

Yea its going to be close on the length. I have had short hair my whole life though. I know they don't care about that but still. Do you think that they would just drop the hair test? I could just tell them I had no idea that I needed to grow out my hair. They are taking a urine test too.

Now that I think about it. Maybe I did go over board by shaving everything and when I buzzed my head I didn't even use a #1, I just buzzed it.
