Okay, here is the deal, I was fortunate enough to get on with a great PD at the age of 18... since then I have been going to night school so that I could get to another PD with beter promo opp's. My brother is a big time weed user, and it has helped him with many of his psychological prob's so I never never had that hatred for potheads that other cops do. I have always done my best to help a dude/dudette out as long as they were respectful to me and my partner (ie... here's a warning, stop smoking in a fucking public park and take it to you backyard). Over the passed year I have smoked three times, the most recent being at least 120 days ago. I just got called for a much better PD but there is going to be a hair test. The polygraph I know I can pass, but I am worried if I admit to smoking even only 3 times I might get squashed, that is how crazy things are at some of these high paying PDs in Cali... I am stuck with telling the truth, possibly PASSING THE TEST but admitting to it anyway and not getting the job, or lying... then failing the test... then getting kicked off my current job.
What do you experts think.... 3 times in a year, the most recent over 120 days ago, think I will pass a hair test?
The other problem this PD said they have hair tests that can go back a year, I was figuring this is not true because my own PD says 90 days for hair tests.... anyone hear of hair tests that can cover a year?

They won't go back a year on the hair test. Probably a scare tactic to weed people out. You will pass the standard hair test with 120 days clean.
The lie detector will probably screw you anyway. You are a law enforcement officer do your job with common sense.
By the way. How do you help me?
I am an electrician and have had to take drug test including a hair test. Don't you think cops should be tested. Especially in CA, with their publicity on the national news in the past few years.

The lie detector is no problem at all... they are very very easy to fake. Don't know if anyone here ever watched Seinfeld, but there is a line from the show "It's not a lie, if you believe" and that is what you have to do with the lie detector... relax, and answer your own questions in your mind...
When they say "have you used weed ever" I think "Do I like cake" so when I answer yes... it is anice, relaxed, and truthful yes.

Darn. You beat me to the punchline.

Anyway, this is why I think lie detector tests are a crock of $&!#. You can accidentally "fail" when you are telling the truth and pass when you are lying. I hope I'm never in a position to take one because I will refuse.

that is exactly why a polygraph is not admissable in court.

My situation.... i think Im fucked now, because I apparently took about 4 or 5 pulls from a joint with my buddies in february... my testing is in a couple a weeks. This is deffinately not chronic use, and my only use in the last 90 days... does anyone think this will show up?
