I posted a while back about how I have only smoked once in my life and it was 1-2 hits a month ago and I am still paranoid about my upcoming hair test. Anyway, I was just wondering why they prefer to remove hair from people's heads? I generally keep my hair very short, so if I get a buzzcut right before my test to like 1/2in would they take hair from my arm pit? Would that be less likely to turn out positive? Or can I tell them that I do not care if they take it from my head eventhough it will leave a bald spot?

They probably prefer to take it from the head so you don't have to remove clothing. I know I would rather snip hair from your head instead of your arm pit or pubic hair.

what happens if you do not have any hair that is 1 1/2 inches?

The sample they took from my head was approx. 1" and the collector said that was plenty.

Be careful about removing all of your hair. If it's a pre-employment test and they know you had hair and then all of the sudden you don't, they can say they changed their mind about hiring you. They can also just say go ahead and get urine sample or blood or saliva.

Yes, I would not remove all of my hair. I am just saying that the only place on my body with an inch and half of hair is my arm pit. I just bought that Nexus Aloe ride shampoo. If I start using that shampoo and I do not even get another hair cut before my test will I be fine? Being that I have smoked so little. Sorry for being so annoying about all of this....

You only had 1-2 hits a month ago. That is all you smoked in your life. You will be fine. There is a cut off limit on the test. Don't get worried and start cutting all your hair off. Relax

I just took the test this morning. Does it usually take a week for the results? I am really scared about this. Do you think there is any chance that i did not pass after a 1 time exposure 43 days ago? Sorry again for being so annoying.

USUALLY 4-5 business days for the lab results. Some have waited (going form memory) 2 weeks or so for HR to get in touch with them.

You aren't annoying, you are nervous for no reason. I still stick with what I said to you in my reply on 04-25-2006. You should pass, without problems.

I passed! Best of luck to everyone else that needs to take this stupid test. I do not think I am ever smoking again.... too many companies are starting to do drug tests.
