Depending on the type of test (hair,saliva, etc.) there is a limit set for a positive result. I like to call it a margin of error. For example if a drug test had a cut off limit of 1pg/mg anything under that is considered negative and anything over a positive. So you can actually smoke a very small mount and don't do any treatment and still pass.(Maybe ) I hope that explains it. If not someone else may do a better job.
