Default Different Type of Question Regarding Tests!

So I have a badass internship for the summer. They told me long ago I would have to take a Saliva Test. No problem, its been damn near a month since I took ONE hit. And then another month or more since a real session. Saliva Test = Good to go.


When I first got the offer over the phone, she mentioned a drug test and I had to come in to do it. So I waited and called back 10 minutes because I had other questions regarding start date, dress policy and such. I then asked if I should come in this weekend for the Oral Test. She said no, that I could take it on my first day. So I felt confident cause I quit with the impending summer internship coming. I waited a while, got my offer letter, and it says they can test whatever they want, typical. I wasn't worried. I called back a week ago to ask other questions and somewhere in there it came up about the test and that I didn't need to go anywhere else and it wasn't a big deal. So I'm not worried. I have been clean a good deal.

QUESTION: I'm going to be taking the oral test, DO EMPLOYERS EVER LIE HOWEVER, AND GIVE YOU ONE DIFFERENT THAN THEY SAY? She told me twice that it was on sight oral. They have the option for the others however. Am I being damn paranoid and I'm not even high? Is there any reason to worry or think they might switch it up? This is only a 2 1/2 month internship. Please let me know thoughts.

The only test that may hurt you is a hair test. Blood, saliva, (even urine) tests are way past the detection period. It depends on your smoking history prior to 2 months ago whether you will pass a hair test.

No, employers don't USUALLY tell you they will do one type of test then switch it up. The idea behind drug testing is to create the fear that you will be discovered so you stay clean. Employers don't usually want to get positive results. If they get a positive result from your test, that means they have to go back to the drawing board as far as finding another candidate for the internship is concerned. I think the HR person wants to give you every opportunity to pass that she can.

Don't imagine problems then stress over them. You'll be fine.
