OKay, in my endless quest to figure out a method for destroying THC metabolites I came up with this thought:

What about the use of UV radiation on hair? It seems to me that the only thing that can, for sure, fully penetrate hair without destroying it are certain types of radiation (x-rays, gamma rays, UV rays etc.). UV light has enough energy to wreek havoc on organic molecules and should, in theory, eventually destroy THC metabolites (how fast, I dont know). I have seen people in this forum make reference to lying in the sun, swimming etc. and based on scientific principals sunning would appear to be helpful. I am personally going to use some of the other successful methods people have recommended in this forum (MacCujo, aloe rid treatment, etc.) along with a few visits to a tanning salon.......

Also, from what I have read in here it seems that there are no fail safe methods for passing the hair test - what works for one person, doesnt always work on another and doesnt even seem to be reproducible in the same individual. This means that either the test itself is flawed/not 100% realiable, treatments work to different extents in different people, or other factors such as: a persons metabolism, how hydrated they are, level of physical activity, (sun exposure?), potency/amount of herb used must come into play..... My guess is all three of these things effect the test outcome.
Scenario: if two people smoke the same amount of herb over a certain time frame but one person has a high metabolism, drinks tons of water and works out, that person would have less THC carboxylic acid in their hair. If they both used the same method to detox, and it say removed 20% of the metabolite (I'm making this number up as no figures are available on effectiveness of various treatments or whether they even work), then it is possible the person with the smaller amount of metabolite in their hair to begin with could now be under the cut-off level and pass the test while the other person could still fail. The less active person would have to use the method several more times in order to get to that same threshold.
Ultimately, there is nothing we can do about any flaws in the test itself but treating your hair with your chosen method(s) as much as possible would presumably be more effective than a once-only treatment (my guess is various detox treatments do remove metabolites but can not be 100% effective). Incidently, drinking plently of water, exercising, eating healthy foods, and taking viatmins are all reccomendations for promoting cell growth including hair growth - I am following these guidlines myself and my hair has grown 0.75 inches in 1 month! (good if you have some time before a test).

Great info, Cyclops. It is nice to see solid scientific evidence on this.

There must be a way to beat these tests, period. Hopefully the method is practical if ever discovered.

NORML should finance a series of tests (200+) to find out what works often, and then recoup that cost thru their 900-number. Sure, info should be free but business is business.
